MEDICAL 6x6 - Read Description carefully before buying
Once again, another incorrect Amazon main title description but thanks to some careful reading of the detailed product description I did in fact get exactly what I wanted which was the 5.11 MEDICAL 6x6 pouch. This is great construction as expected from 5.11. Inside, the two sides of the pouch have zippered mesh to provide for retention of medical supplies when opening. Some unusually small loops on the inside spine might hold a pen or some tweezers or small caribiners on pouches to dangle inside the center between the two mesh pouches. Will have to experiment. Unlike the picture shown for this item which is also incorrect, there is a First Aid cross in the same earth tone on the outside of this pouch where the top Molle row would otherwise be allowing you to quickly identify the pouch without calling attention to the overall pack with a differently colored cross. This pouch fits perfectly on the hip strap of the Rush72 pack allowing quick access to First Aid supplies if needed. This does however create a wide profile at the hip so if you swing your arms tight to your body when walking/hiking you might prefer a different location. As mentioned in my other reviews of this product line, the Slickstick innovation for the back straps on the 5.11 pouches allows for easy Molle-ing without mauling. Another fine 5.11 product. Amazon might sell more if they would describe and picture more carefully.

Regular ol' med pouch for regular ol' guys.
I bought this because I'm a Paramedic/Firefighter and wanted a easy way to carry my personal meds. There wasn't much I could find at the local stores that appeared "manly" enough for a regular dude; it was all too fancy for me. So I thought to myself, who would make a simplistic pouch that is just carrying what I need? 5.11! I wear a bunch of their gear and work and we use their jump bags, so I just looked up "5.11 pouches" on a whim and found this.Works great for a personal med pouch. It has plenty of room for lots of average size bottles. I use one side of mine to carry my Rx drugs and allergy med I take daily. The other side houses a large bottle of Excedrine, Afrin, Blistex, Vicks, Benadryl, effervescent tabs, Q-tips, and floss picks (all just in case because you never know what a day in EMS will throw at you). The zippers run smoothly. The mesh on the inside makes it easy to identify where you've placed everything. If I were a tactical medic, I'm sure this would work great for IVs, dressing, TKs, and all that. I can imagine where I'd store it all. But for now I'm extremely happy with it's size and how easily I can tuck it away in my bag. Plus I'm pretty sure 5.11 only makes awesome stuff. So that in itself is a pretty solid reason to pick this up.

Med pouch with molle
This is a fantastic addition to any pack. It opens wide and allow gear to be visible. I did use it as a med holder in my travels through Africa. It was fantastic.Pros: fits into molle webbing quickly and securely. Pouch zips open nicely with an inner netting zipper. Very accessible. The netting is nice bc it carries ample gear and makes items visble. Great pouch size, sit nicely with my edc. I like the med cross marking it as made pack.Cons: getting a variety of colors. The 5.11 company is limited on coordinating colors. Conclusion: it is worth the price. Very well made, durable, handy to use, quick on and off. +++

Right-Sized Capacity for a Customized Med Pouch
My wife and I took divergent approaches to med pouches for backpacking. She purchased a couple of EMT modular bags, one for trauma supplies, the other for a general med kit. The trauma kit (includes airway, splint, clotting sponges, more advanced bandages and wraps, etc.) would only go along on an extended, or perhaps more dangerous trip. Even her general med kit is nearly twice the capacity of my 5.11 Med Pouch, though ... and I like the coverage her kit provides. From that perspective, not having seen the 5.11 pouch "in person," I took a chance on its usability.I'm delighted! I got virtually everything I wanted into the downsized pouch. While I don't have the depth of supplies as my wife, nor ALL of the coverage, I'm quite satisfied with what I accomplished - which is beyond what off-the-shelf kits provide, by the way.The pouch itself is stout and I like that when open, the mesh pockets on both sides are up. 5.11 molle straps are superb. The usual drill for putting the pouch on, of course (although the stiffness of 5.11's straps helps), but popping the bag off is nearly instant (and easy). My ONLY complaint about this bag is the flaps covering the zipper when the pouch is closed. They are too stiff, too short. You can pull them in, but it's a pain. That's OK for a med pouch, but not optimal even for that.

I've had this med pack & Utility bag since 3-3-2011, I guess I should write a review on them now
I have had this IFAC pack and Utility Sling Bag since March 3, 2011, I guess I should write a reviews on them now that I have had them for nine years and they are still going strong, I am not an "operator" and don't take it out in the field every day, but I have the med. pouch attached to my "5.11 Tactical Push Pack, Utility Sling Bag for Responders" I use that to carry my pistol and mags for the pistol plus my rifle mags. I also carry a flash light with extra batteries, weapons cleaning kit and a few other odds and ends when ever I go some where I want my primary arms with me to go. Both items were bought at the same time and I keep the IFAC attached to the shoulder bag for emergencies that may occur during my travels. I have also put several of these IFACs together for my sons and these bags are just about the right size for the job, I really like the mesh partitions in these IFAC pouches, they make finding things much easier and allow air flow to keep things dried out when the pouch is exposed to the weather. All in all I would rate the pouch and bag as excellent in size and durability for everyday use and convenience in handling of this type of equipment.
