This light is excellent. I use it on my band saw and those reviews I read about it sliding down and not staying in place on their saws I found to be a non issue. There are plenty of places on the saw to set it. It is bright and the magnet holds well. I will also use it in my scroll saw and other wood shop equipment. I recommend it!!

I purchased this light to improve the visibility on my lathe. When I unwrapped the base it had places where the powder coating had been scratched to the metal below. Perhaps somebody else has already returned it, but I still plan to keep it. It's going in the garage, not lighting up a collection of Faberge eggs. I plugged it in and was pleased with the brightness of the light and stiffness of the arm. The light is bright without being blinding and the arm holds it's position. The switch on the base raises/lowers a magnet inside to make it easy to attach and remove it from a metal surface. There is another button on the lamp end of the light for turning it on/off. It's not obvious, until you see it's there. Then it's actually really convenient. Perhaps it's too simple to need any instructions, but it doesn't come with any either. No information about bulb replacement, wattage, warranty, contact information, etc. What you read in the product description on Amazon is what you get.

Purchased to use for spotlight brightening for my lathe. Strong maginate, bright light and long gooseneck extension. Perfect for it's purpose.

Nice bright light and very good magnet. Long enough to reach my work space and is not in the way.

The lamp is as described and works as I need BUT the magnet is nothing like similar switch operated magnet bases I've had in the past. Pretty much have to hold the base to adjust the gooseneck (something that I am doing constantly). Disappointing given the price.

The light emitting bulb part of this lamp is very nice. The magnetic base is less than worthless. The base has a small, tiny footprint that is also poorly weighted. With the long gooseneck it can only fall over even without the vibration from the machinery it was intended to provide useful illumination for. The long gooseneck is exactly what one needs to light specific work areas like a small milling machine, or metal lathe. That is where the magnet should make up more than the difference. This magnet is so weak it cannot hold the lamp up even when there is no machine vibration. When you turn on the mill the light will fall over in the middle of your work. Actually it will happen long before you get to the middle. And that is if you put it on a horizontal surface where it has the assistance of gravity. Clinging by the magnet to a horizontal surface it drops to the floor if you look at it funny. Given these design failures, and the high cost, you should not buy this. I say it is less than worthless because, it falling down while you are working with an industrial machine, even if only a hobby level, is a dangerous liability. The light itself is also unreliable. In short time it will devolve into a lamp that flashes for 1/4 of a seconds every 3 seconds. If the other issues don't make you crazy this last one will

The magnet strength is amazing. My lathe is close to the band saw and I can just leave the light on the and point it to the saw. Works great. Great light for little money.

I got this light to use on my lathe. With the magnet I figured it would hold anywhere I put it on the lathe, and it does. The magnet has a switch to hold and release it from the metal. That works fine. I like the looks of the light. Black and very nice in its design. The brightness is perfect for targeting the area that I am focusing on. What is somewhat problematic is the gooseneck itself. It is very stiff with limited ability to flex enough to reach where I need the light the most. So often I need to readjust the light for a specific area and I find it bothersome to have to monkey with reattaching the base to make minor adjustments on my lighting need just because the gooseneck is so stiff. I was close to returning it for that reason but have not. If the neck gets redesigned this would certainly be a great buy. As it is now, it's just not what it could have been.

Very handy little light. Nice and bright, stiff flex so it stays put. Electro- magnet is great.
