Went from 3 to 4 stars just for excellent customer service! A year later, I added another star
Updated Review October 16, 2024: I've had the Wolfbox for over a year now. I absolutely love it. Great customer service, and great product! I've recorded quite a few "interesting" incidents, and I'm glad I have back up proof if the worst should occur. 5 STARS after 1 year of ownership! Updated Review December 30, 2023: 4 stars for excellent customer service! I added pictures which were not part of my original review. I upgraded my original 3 star score to 4 stars simply for excellent customer service. A nice lady from Wolfbox named Aila has EXCELLENT communication skills and has been reliable and consistent with messaging me through Amazon's interactive customer/seller portal. She has been wonderful and excellent. Take note that this happened throughout the holiday season. As a customer who is very particular with my needs and honest about my reviews and feedback, I can honestly say that this is how to build brand loyalty. Aila thanked me for my feedback about the products, and assured me that she will be using that feedback to improve her products in the future. She was also very willing to replace my items, and offer me full refunds. Considering that I liked the Wolfbox G900 kit that I installed enough to keep it (especially after all the work I did to install the system) , and after the excellent communication I received from Aila at Wolfbox, I am very comfortable to give Wolfbox my personal loyalty to their brand as Aila has established rapport and trust. PROS: 1) The form factor of front facing and rear facing cameras both recording at the same time is excellent. 2) The camera monitor is also your rear view mirror. -This is the best feature in my opinion because it gives you the best view of what is behind your vehicle at all times. -I have it set so that the monitor shows the rear facing camera at all times. I LOVE this feature because it is a huge upgrade from a regular rearview mirror. -I have my 2.5K rearview camera mounted right above my license plate on the outside of the car. Someday I hope Wolfbox has a 4K rearview camera available, so that license plates can be read from further away. 2.5K is sufficient enough to do the job. -When the Vehicle is in reverse, straight reverse lines appear in the monitor. While they do not curve when turning the driving wheel, they still serve a practical function for gauging distance when reversing into a parking stall. ----- Original Review December 22nd, 2023: 3 stars, and did not include any pictures. I purchased this G900 with rear camera system because it was on sale. Ideally, I want a 4K front camera and a 4K rear camera because what's the point of having video footage if you can't make out the license plates right? Well I picked the G900 because it didn't appear that any Wolfbox model had dual front and rear 4K. The best I found find was front 4K, and rear 2.5K. While the picture quality is pretty good. Looking back at the videos on my computer, cars have to be REALLY close to the cameras in order to make out the license plate. Night quality? Forget it. Can't make out license plates at all. I guess this is the best we can hope for. I'm not disappointed to the point that I'd return the cameras. They do still serve a very pragmatic function. However, I will say this: I would LOVE it if I could just hotswap out my rear camera for a 4K camera someday. Also, I purchased the OEM Wolfbox mounting bracket. It fits perfectly on my 2008 Toyota Corolla, however no matter how much I tighten it, it rattles, and that rattle sound gets picked up by the onboard microphone and you can constantly hear it in the video footage anytime the car is moving. I might have to install a wooden shim inbetween the space between the bracket (why does this space exist?) and the mirror. Furthermore, whenever I adjust the position of the mirror, I hear a popping sound coming from the connection between the mirror and the bracket. Again, I have tightened all screws as tight as possible, and everything is securely and properly assembled. I think a wooden shim should do the trick, but I shouldn't have to do that. Therefore 3 stars. Good enough to keep, not bad enough to return. Could use some improvements.

Game Changer Must Have Accessory!
I first saw this in use on someone else’s car and was blown away by the capabilities and features. So I decided to go ahead with my purchase. I’ve had vehicles for 50 years and this is without a doubt the very best and most useful accessory that I’ve ever purchased. Installation was easy, although I did search for and find a YouTube video on how to remove my rear hatch panel and trim from my specific car model, and guidance on how to best install the camera externally. To be blunt, this is literally a game changer. I have a car with dark tint on the windows (hey, it’s Texas) and I have problems using any of my mirrors even in the daylight. Night time is even worse and I’ve struggled to see clearly from the rear view mirror. This dramatically changes everything in that I now have crystal clear rear views at all times of the day and night. And I love that you can adjust the viewing angles of both the front and rear to get the exact view that works best for you. The wide angle view is amazing as it allows me to easily see all four lanes no matter which lane I happen to be in. I expected that the view at night might suffer but I was pleased to see a nice sharp color image day or night. Having its GPS offers speed and directional information. Installation was straight forward on my BMW X5, and easy to understand. I did purchase a Tresalto Auto Trim Removal Tool Kit here on Amazon so that I’d have the right tools to ensure I didn’t damage my trim. And I also used some small black tie straps to neaten up the install into the rear hatch panel. They also sell a replacement longer rear camera cable but I had plenty of length left over that I then tucked away inside my front pillar trim. Rear camera installation did require me to drill a small hole for the cable on the exterior back panel adjacent to the license plate on the opposite end from the factory rear view camera, and then I used clear silicone to ensure that nothing outside seeped back inside. Once positioned it looks like a factory install, nice and professional. I highly recommend this smart mirror, especially for anyone with dark tinted windows, or if you’re older and perhaps not seeing as well at night.

It's a great camera/mirror system!
The short version is that I own two of the Wolfbox G900 rearview mirror cams and I am very happy with both units. The first one I bought in January of this year and liked it so much I recently got a second unit for another vehicle. For the long version, read on: As far as installation, it was pretty straight forward and the hardest part was running and hiding the cables. Both of my G900 units are wired direct with the Wolfbox hardwire kit so that I can make use of the parking mode time lapse recording feature. I installed both units myself with the rear cameras mounted just above the license plates and with the GPS modules hidden behind the front A pillar trim (I have no problem picking up the GPS satellites with the sensor behind the trim). The parking mode feature works great and I have mine set to record in 12 hour time lapse mode with 3 FPS, which saves a lot of disk space while still providing a decent enough constant video recording. The Wolfbox hardwire module also saves you from draining the vehicle’s battery by cutting off the power to the camera if the battery voltage drops below a certain point. So far, both of mine are able to record for the full 12 hours in time lapse mode before the low voltage turn off kicks in. Regular recording mode works great and I have the recording resolution set to 2.5K on both the front and rear cameras. The video quality is excellent on both units and I can easily read license plates out to 30+ feet or more, even on passing vehicles on both the front and rear cams. The recorded video is very clear and I have no complaints about the quality of the video on either the front or rear cameras. The user interface of the G900 is pretty straight forward and it is quite easy to adjust the different settings. Video playback is simple and the controls are very well laid out. The stored video files are very well organized into separate on screen folders and navigating them is simple. There is no Bluetooth connection to connect to a phone to view videos but the playback screen on the mirror is large enough to easily see the recorded video. If I need to review a video in great detail, I’ll just remove the micro SD card and play it on my computer anyway. Both of my G900’s came with an amply-sized 64GB Samsung Pro Endurance micro SD card (blue and white card) but I am actually running a 256GB version of the same card for added capacity, with no issues on either unit. The recording system rolls over when the card gets full but any locked videos (from the GPS impact sensor mode or manual lock button) do not automatically get recorded over. So far, I get about 2-3 weeks of recording with typical driving before anything gets recorded over with the 256GB cards. I honestly don’t have any real issues with my G900 cameras but if there had to be one minor nitpicky negative thing it would be that the brightness of the rear camera at night can be a little bit darker than what you might be used to seeing with a regular rearview mirror. During the daytime both cameras are bright and clear however. It’s really not a big deal though and the excellent full width rear view I enjoy from the mirror far outweighs any very minor nighttime brightness issue. That said, I believe this is actually by design with the improved WDR technology of the rear camera. It is designed to prevent headlight glare from washing out the screen to where you can’t see anything and to that end, it works great. I have had no problem with headlights washing out the rear camera screen and the WDR rear camera still provides a clear quality 2.5K HD image at night. In all, I am very happy with both of my G900 units and would no doubt get another one if I had a third vehicle. The video quality is excellent as is the overall build quality and product packaging. The mirror doesn’t look or feel cheap at all. Also, I did have a few back and forth general questions with Wolfbox customer service and they were very responsive and accommodating. On top of building a high quality mirror camera, it’s nice to know a company still stands behind their products and is there if you need them. Overall, I have no complaints!

WOLFBOX G900 REVIEW MAY 2023
This is a long review. The short version: I like and would recommend the WOLFBOX G900. The resolution of the front camera is great during the daytime. The vids & snaps look great on the computer. You must be less than 15 feet away to clearly read the license plate during the day. I use “VLC Media Player” to view the vids. I paid a guy $150.00 plus $20.00 tip to install it and he did an excellent job. The only problem is that the rear camera came DOA. Amazon sent a new one in two days. This is why I love Amazon. There are a few problems I found and listed below: What irks me the most is that the G900 is supposed to replace your rear-view mirror and it does a lousy job. The display screen is too dark for the rear camera. The front camera is okay at its brightest setting. The glare of the back window is hard to avoid. If you turn the G900 more toward you, the front camera will aim more to the right. Even after you manually move the camera as far left as it can go. - The front camera should be below the G900, in the center. It should also rotate 360 and pivot up/down. Some cars have extra trim around the mirror mount that obstructs the right side of the G900 screen. If the camera was below and could rotate more to the left, you can aim the G900 display screen more toward you to avoid the glare of the reflection of the back window. - DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME: When you click it on, the time displayed on the G900 is correct. The time stamp on the thumb nail is off by an hour. I had to turn off daylight savings time & choose another time zone to get the correct time on the thumb nails. Same goes for the thumb nails for the photos & emergency recordings. - 12/24: If you choose “12 hour”, the time on the G900 is the correct format. The time stamp on the thumb nail is “24 hour” (factory setting). - DATE FORMAT: The same as 12/24. Whatever format you choose, the G900 shows the correct format. The thumb nail shows the (factory setting) date format. SUGGESTION: USB port! That way you can copy vids & snaps to a thumb drive on site.

It’s good but not perfect
I bought this after reading a lot of good reviews and installed it on my bmw 5 series. TLDR: it’s good if you don’t have a backup camera or dash cam already. This will likely meet your needs and do quite well. But if you’re a perfectionist, you likely will be annoyed by its flaws, even though they aren’t major. The good: * Front-facing camera is 4K (or claims to be). The videos are good and clear. * Touch interface is very easy to use. There aren’t any complicated options and the buttons are easy to use. * Rear camera daytime is good. The frame rate is lacking and makes it feel a little weird in place of the original mirror, but the quality is good and easy to process what’s behind you. The not-so-good: * Rear camera night time is not nearly as good as day time. Headlights have glare and halos and the refresh rate causes flickering from some cars’ lights. This is primary reason I returned it. I could not managed with the flickering. * The rear camera is physically somewhat big and difficult to mount without looking out of place. * The mirror sits on top of the OEM mirror, which ends up blocking the light sensor so my side mirrors would not dim as they were supposed to. * The 12-inch mirror takes up a bit more frontward visibility and I found myself looking around it a bit more. * Glare is a real thing. It took several tries to position it so that I didn’t get a ghost reflection of something in my car along with the screen at dusk.

Great quality and user experience
I recently purchased the WOLFBOX G900 rear view mirror camera and I must say that it has exceeded all my expectations. The 4K+2.5K video capture resolution provides exceptional image quality for both the front and rear cameras and can identify other vehicles' license plates. The full 12" touch screen is not only easy to navigate, but also provides a wide, crystal clear view of my surroundings, greatly enhancing the rear view, ensuring that I am always aware of what is going on around my vehicle. One of the most impressive features of this product is the night vision capability. The large F1.5 aperture and WDR technology work in perfect harmony to provide superior clarity, even in low light conditions, or changing light, adapting the camera to multiple situations very quickly. The parking and GPS tracking functions are also very useful, adding an extra layer of safety to my driving experience. In addition, I really appreciate the inclusion of a free 64 GB card, in my case a name brand one. The worry-free warranty and excellent customer service also make this product a must-have for any vehicle owner. That said, there are a few improvements that could make this already exceptional product even better: While the touch screen is very sensitive and easy to use, the screen can become very reflective in direct sunlight, making it difficult to see. A higher screen brightness, an integrated sunshade or an anti-reflective coating on the screen would make a significant difference in these situations. It would be helpful if the product came with a more detailed user manual, as it took me a while to understand some of the more advanced features. Offering online tutorial videos or a full digital manual would greatly enhance the user experience for those not very tech savvy. Overall, the WOLFBOX G900 rear view mirror camera is a top-notch product that offers unmatched image quality and user experience. With some minor improvements, this product can become the best rearview mirror camera for any vehicle. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve the safety of their car.

Basic issue is that it does not fit many vehicles
I really wanted to like this product. Lots of features. On paper, it looks good but there are too many negatives. I expect perfect when paying this quantity of $$$. It is being returned. The number one problem is it probably will not fit many/most modern vehicles. Maybe good for a 60's Chevy but trying to install it over the mirrors on a newer vehicle is not possible using the rubber band method. The stock mirrors are often too thick, too wide, too tall, or all of the above. The auto manufacturers just put too much stuff on the mirror like Garage door openers, Onstar, temp displays, etc. Won't mount cleanly on my 2006 Envoy and a 2010 C350. If you look at the competitors they all use the same rubber band method. They need to publish the limitations on mirror mounting. Width, height, and thickness all impact how cleanly this will install. Next is the number of wires going into it. It is just ugly. Different connectors in every direction. Power. GPS. Rear Camera. They need a single cable and split it in a hidden location. There is a competitor that does this. Why not build the GPS into the mirror? No reason it needs to be separate. There are competitors that have it integrated. I like the idea of having the camera mounted to the mirror but it brings up 2 problems. It only works if your mirror is less than about 8" wide at the maximum measured width. If wider, the camera housing will interfere forcing it off center. Mirror mounted cameras also are a problem If you have multiple drivers. The camera will be moved with the mirror if they have to repositioned it. Like most of the competitors, they sell an incomplete kit. Generally you will have to buy an additional expensive cable to install it. Nobody permanently installs a dashcam like this and plugs it into a power outlet! Last of all, they have the most annoying customer service. I keep getting messages about my "problem" which does not exist. The problem they mention has nothing to do with this review. The problem went away when I shipped it back. The problem I have is they keep sending generic messages about a problem!

Excellent Device (includes updated review)
I helped my buddy install this on my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. It took a little work, but it was easy to do. There was enough wire to get from the rear to the front, and we did a decent job hiding the wires inside the ceiling liner. I am not a car guru, so I was the assistant. The picture is clear almost always. The only issue is that water gets on the lens when it rains hard, and it becomes blurry. That is the only 'complaint' I have, but it is no fault of the product. It is only because the vehicle's engineering does not fully cover the outside-mounted camera. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a digital mirror that doubles as 'protection' in an accident. Update: Nearly two years later, my rear camera stopped working after my original purchase. I wrote to the company and explained to them my experience, and let them know that everything else up to that point has worked flawlessly. They have come out with newer cameras, three camera systems, and more, but I just asked them for some help. The customer service was excellent, and they told me they would ship me a replacement rear camera, free of charge! I got the replacement camera in a few days, and then a week or so later, I contacted my same buddy, and I drove an hour to his house to help him remove the old camera and wire, and then run the new wire through my car and connect it to the new camera. The new camera they sent is an updated one. I don't know what version, but it is brand new and works flawlessly. I highly recommend this company for its products, service, and customer service.
