Restaurants in town sell panini sandwiches, and, upon occasion, I will order them. However, sometimes it’s inconvenient to go out to eat with everyone’s busy schedule. I wanted a panini maker that wouldn’t take up a lot of space, one that I could easily use in the morning or at lunch time to make a sandwich. This product is great. It stays clean, heats quickly (we have an electric range), and does exactly what you would expect... makes panini. I debated, would I use this enough to justify the purchase? Then I thought, I have all of the ingredients all of the time, if I price each sandwich at $3, would I see a return on my investment? The answer is easily yes. Small risk for a sizeable return. Before gifting, you need to know that this makes one sandwich and possibly two compact wraps. If you’re gifting to a larger household, you might consider a larger panini maker. Another selling point... this is essentially a pan and not a countertop space hog. When done with it, carefully stow with your other pans. I have two red copper products, and they tend to last many years before replacement is needed.Update: One week of use and I've made like 6 sandwiches. My panini maker has already returned on the investment. Monte christo panini this morning.

I bought this as a gift for my father who loves toasted sandwiches. We had a microwave back in the day that had a toaster rack and it made the best melts ever because it would toast and microwave at the same time? This is a great little gadget! They make some very useful things these days. Dad loves it and he really likes being able to have the old easy to make sandwiches. The convenience is a huge selling point for this item! The only con I see is that it's sized for Wonder Bread. So larger slices won't fit unless you cut them before and do one half at a time. Not a big deal and it's really worth it to have grilled cheese on demand and without any extra butter or frying!

So far so good. Had a round sandwich (Toastite) as a kid so there is some nostalgia here for me. My childhood device which I still have (I'm 64 and it certainly is that old or older) doesn't work on our induction cooktop. This one does, plus it seems to be absolutely non-stick. I've been creative with 3 or 4 sandwiches so far and am very happy. The arms and handles are a little flimsy which is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. The price is good, and I liked the fact that I didn't have to go through the dog and pony show of being coerced to get a second one "absolutely free" (just pay an additional shipping and handling). I find that so annoying. Much nicer transaction than calling the number on TV where I first saw this. Thanks Amazon.

Bought a Red Copper square pan (9.5") at a thrift store. Pretty good!Too big. Single egg slid around and cooked unevenlyBought the smaller Red Copper Flipwich here on amazon.I do put a light coat of butter with a silicone brush on both sides.Heat on medium: Add eggs right after putting pan on burner.I've done scrambled, or just crack a whole egg (pierce the yolk)1.5 minutes each side. (Your kitchen equipment may be different.)You get a perfectly cooked square egg.They slide out. No mess.I have not tried any other food in here.I don't care. This makes perfect eggs and I am happy.Silicone spatula to initially break it loose.After that, egg slides off pan.The square pan is good for other things.The Flipwich is awesome for eggs.

First off, when I treated it as indicated, one side on the outside turned a completely different color. So I have one red side with a small dark streak and the other a brownish patina. I proceeded to ignore this and cooked a pork loin piece. It cooked fast and fine in less than 10 minutes but food stuck to the pan on both sides. Right now it's 'soaking' and hope to get the stuff off without scraping. I ordered another product of theirs which hasn't arrived yet but shudder at the thought of what awaits me!!!! I do not recommend and if I can't get it cleaned to my liking will invest in something similar really non-stick. I was going to use it to grill several hot dogs at once but won't even attempt it.PS - The food stuck didn't come off completely. I have a non-stick pan that cooks eggs and pancakes or Canadian bacon same time and flips over nicely and tightly cleaning beautifully. Wasted money and don't understand why it doesn't come already non-stick like its 5 minute chef product which I haven't used as yet but at least don't need to 'treat' first (or like its deep steamer-fryer-bake pan which I have yet to treat/use probably giving it away). In future will never buy this manufacturer's products again.

I love this little sandwich-maker! I cook most meals at home due to various food restrictions, and appreciate being able to make grilled food so easily. So far, it has made wonderful grilled cheese, grilled ham and cheese, grilled PBJ (so awesome), and grilled tuna! It has also grilled chicken breast cutlets to perfection! I cook on a gas stove,so it heats fast and evenly. The handle is strong enough to compress a regular sandwich, just don't over-load. I cannot see how the plates COULD separate, so no problem there. Seasoning before use on the stove top was simple, nothing sticks, and clean-up is quick. Makes cooking for one so easy! Best kitchen tool I have bought in ages, wish I had found it long ago!

I just ordered this and made an amazing cheese and turkey panini! I think it’s an amazing product and a great price.I see there are a lot of reviews about the two pieces coming apart. That happen to me me to when I opened the box. I then realized they easily can be put back into the correct position if you hold the pieces back to back. This also makes it easier to clean!(I do think the business would benefit from having an insert explaining how the two pieces can come apart and can go back together easily) I get how it can seem broken!
