What a lifesaver! I'd been searching for a 120V line voltage detector for ages, but they were all over $50, and some as much as $160. Then I saw this beauty! Inexpensive! Easy to use! Compact! And again, a lifesaver! I had a large bundle of 120V Romex in the attic space. Unfortunately, determining which one to use was the issue, and there was no way I was going to spend hours and hours cutting little notches in them and test with my multimeter. So the bundle stayed left alone for quite some time. That was until I purchased this gem. I was able to determine the correct line in under 20 minutes! Now theres a 2-gang outlet which now runs the attic fan and LED light! Next was tracing wires in the garage walls. The previous owner had a small shop and added an additional fuse to the panel. He also added an additional run of outlets, but they were at different heights. As a few were up high, I couldn't tell if the wiring ran along the upper area of the wall or back down? I'm glad I had this tester! He did run a few outlet wires along the upper interior wall! If I hadn't checked, I would most certainly have cut them! If you're in need of a user-friendly line voltage tester, this is the one to get! I LOVE this tool!

Works great. I was able to detect a stray live wire causing problems in a matter of seconds. Definitely a must-have tool for any serious electrical work and diagnostic tests. Good value for money.

I like that it looks slick with it's multi tool use. There is a red pointer light on it, which is helpful when you are trying to show someone a location you are talking about to someone, whether it is in a vehicle engine that you can not point to without it, or something located in another room that is occupied and can not enter, but have ability to see from a glass or open door. The only thing I don't like is the option to have the flashlight on with the red pointer on. The flashlight is not that strong to project the ability to see better in daylight where the red pointer shines on, even from a foot away. Of course depending on how much light is available and how much darkness is on the object. In my opinion, the light is not as strong as most flashlights. It is a weak pen light. I appreciate this voltage tester because it is small enough to fit in a pocket, shaped like a pen, and has a pocket clip that fits in long pockets. The length of the tool might be too long for some shirt pockets. The voltage tester works great. I love that it beeps at you indicating if there is power surging through a connection. The on off button is great. I wish the on off switch was a toggle switch for security just in case you accidentally turn it on while it is in the pocket. For instance if you carry or lean on something and it turns on, you wouldn't know unless you took the tool out of the pocket and looked at it. The only way you can tell if the tool is on, if the pocket material allows the small led on-light to show through. If the fabric is too thick and dark colored, you might not know that it is on. Overall, it is a neat little tool. I haven't test how long the battery will last. Assume also that it is not water resistant, so keep it away from the rain, if you have to do work outside in bad weather.

This unit was opened 5 months after purchase and would not turn on even though batteries test good. I don't know whether this is a one unit defect or a recurring problem. Update: Operator error, The unit is working normally. It is sensitive and easy to use.

J’ai acheté ce produit parce que je fais des rénovations. Je change les vieilles prises de courant et interrupteurs ainsi que les luminaires qui datent de la construction de la maison. Ce testeur de tension m’aide dans cette tâche. Il est facile d’utilisation et fiable. Les batteries sont incluses. Un bip indique que l’appareil est fonctionnel lorsqu’on appuie sur le bouton power. L’appareil est muni d’un pointeur laser et d’une lampe torche pour les endroits peu éclairés. Un signal sonore et un voyant lumineux rouge indiquent la présence de courant. De plus, la forme de l’embout permet de le rentrer directement dans la prise avant de couper l’électricité et juste après. On n’est jamais trop prudent. Je le recommande.
