Nikon Coolpix S9300 16.0 MP Digital Camera - Red

I bought this camera to replace the S8100 that my husband broke. So far, it's working out great. I have a Nikon D3100 that I use, but I always like to have a point and shoot for when we're out and on the run. It takes great pictures, and is very similar to the Nikon S8100 that I was replacing. The zoom is a bit better, it has more MP, and the menu workings/navigation are still the same. Other than the different placement of the shutter button, I feel like I'm using the same camera, which is nice. The only thing I have trouble with (just a matter of getting used to it, not a deal breaker or anything), is that you have to depress the on/off button for longer than my old camera. So it's not an instant power on like my old one, which sometimes leaves me fumbling when I'm trying to whip my camera out in a hurry to catch something. But overall, a great camera, for a really good price!

The only very small flaws: 1) when the flash is turned off, motion blur is pretty obvious with movement. (when flash is on, there's no motion blur even if you swing it around quite a bit) 2) The max stats for photos, it says 9999 which is fine. But the max space for video says 29 minutes, which kind of confused me at first, since I have a 64 GB super fast SD card. But it DOES record well over 29 minutes. 3) The charger isn't a charger. It's a USB to Wall Plug adapter so I cannot take out the battery to charge it, I can only charge while it's in the camera. 4) When you zoom to the max, automatic zoom doesn't seem to be working too well - but once you set the zoom back a little it's more able to focus. All that aside, this is the best camera I've owned so far, in both ease of use, and versatility, and the quality of both photo and video is fantastic! For all the great positives, look at the camera's description - it is exactly as good as it's described!

The S9200 Nikon camera is a great value for all the features you receive. The quality is as good as any I have seen in a non SLR camera. The user controls are easy to locate and understand. The features give you everything you need including great video along with the best MP level for this type of camera. The camera also has a great zoom, again one of the best in a non SLR or changeable lens camera. Excellent for a point and shoot camera, easy to carry. I would recommend this to anyone including professionals who want a point and shoot camera.

forget all the bad reviews and what other nonsense all the other people were saying this is an amazing camera this is my 4th nikon and i love all and this one by far is my favorite. okay now for the rest of you idiots that said the camera doesn't focus when zoomed in all the way you hold the button down not all the way but some what all the way down and it will focus in or CHANGE YOU SETTINGS and for mr NIkon please do not call your self mr Nikon if you dont have a brain in your head to insult a great camera like this making it sound horrible. This camera is amazing as hell its so clear it feels like you can reach in and touch the pictures. i dont know if you all got bad products but i for one can honestly say this is by far an amazing camera. the picture quality kills even a Canon t3 I have just compared pictures from both and i can say that the nikon won by a long shot. it makes nature seem like you cut it out and brought it to your computer or print it onto a canvas. Nikon has always been a great camera brand this camera keep its good name up. Like i said before maybe the people who gave it bad reviews got a bad batch or something but this camera is amazing and works flawlessly. I will update this review constantly when anything changes. but for now i dont see anything changing about how amazing this camera is .

I love Nikon cameras. I am very pleased with my D3100 and the several lenses I bought for it. So when I decided I also wanted a point and shoot, I was not surprised when my list of desired features for my camera led me to select the Nikon S9300. I was confident my purchase would justify my evaluation of the several cameras available. But I am somewhat disappointed with this camera. At face value it seems to match up to the competition, but there is something missing with the camera as a whole. Let me explain what I mean. The autofocus seems to work well, but once I download my pictures, they are not always clear. They appear clear in the view window when I take the picture, but the end result is not always what I expected. Likewise, the selector dial on the camera is easily rotated, even when I do not want to change the setting. It is as if the dial gets bumped or adjusted when I return my camera to my pocket or to its case. The flash settings also seem to get changed without my knowing. I set the flash to automatic, take some shots then return the camera to the case. When I ready for my next shot, the flash is on a setting other than automatic. These issues are annoying (though by themselves are not necessarily a dealbreaker). I realize I likely am part of the reason for my problems, but my old Olympus point and shoot never gave me these problems. Perhaps Nikon's desire to have multiple features is also part of the problem. In their attempt to make this camera user friendly, they overlooked the fact that not every user will be proficient in all aspects of its use. On the positive side, the pictures that are in focus are great. Many of my pictures are of a work related nature (building mechanical equipment, roofs, driveways, etc.) so I'm not talking about missing out on the perfect "Kodak moment," but I do rely on my camera to capture a picture so I do not have to write the thousand words I'd otherwise need to write. The zoom lens is very powerful, though maximum zoom requires either a tripod or a very stable hand, and the pixel settings allow for well defined detail shots. The GPS helps remind me where I was when I took the picture. I do not regret buying this camera. Afterall, it was the only camera that had all of the features I was looking for in a point and shoot. I just think that Nikon could have done a better job in constructing the camera so to avoid these bothersome issues. It is a comfortable camera to bring along on any type of outing. For these reasons I say this is a good camera, just not a great camera. My old Olympus lasted me eleven years before a mysterious hole developed in my viewfinder and I could no longer load the software on new computers. I wonder how long the Nikon S9300 will last.

Definitely the best camera ever such great quality handled with care and it’s perfect for the girls who want to use this for Instagram I ended up getting the S 7000 such a great investment

Nikon COOLPIX S9200 16 MP CMOS Digital Camera with 18x Zoom NIKKOR ED Glass Lens and Full HD 1080p Video (Black) I purchased the Nikon COOLPIX S9200 two months ago and was pretty happy with my purchase the first month. It took pretty decent pictures, for the most part. Outside pictures turned out pretty darn good and I really enjoyed experimenting with the various effects (selective color etc.). I'm a total beginner when it comes to photography and this camera SEEMED like it was going to be perfect for me to learn with. The first pictures that I took in less than perfect light turned out blurry to the point that you couldn't even tell what was in them. I read the instruction manual carefully thinking that I must be doing something wrong because of Nikon's advertisement for this camera. They claim that you are able to take perfect pictures with practically no light. The camera didn't last long enough for me to figure out if it was something I was doing or if the camera was junk. A couple of weeks ago I started having issues with the camera not focusing on what I was trying to take a picture of and it was getting hot after only having it on for a few minutes. The camera froze up and the screen displayed a lens error message and shut off a few days ago. I have tried taking the battery out and leaving it out with no luck. I called Nikon and was instructed that I would have to pay shipping and send it either UPS or FedEx to LA (I live in Kansas) to have it looked at. IF they determined that it was not because of something I did then they would fix it. After reading numerous reviews on Amazon and other websites from customers who have had the same problem and have shipped their cameras and are still waiting to get them back months later, I do not hold out much hope that the problem will be resolved. I would recommend that you save your money and purchase a camera from a company with a better reputation. The camera is only so-so. Outside it takes pretty good pictures, if it actually works that is. Inside it doesn't do so well. I can't really comment much on the camera because it started failing before I really had a chance to give it a good road test. I don't know for sure if I just got a bad camera or if it's the camera in general. I've read reviews where people were pretty pleased which is why I bought mine to begin with. Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. Nikon's customer service is extremely poor, the customer is required to pay shipping to send the item in for repair when it is under warranty and from what some other customers have said, they have been waiting months to get their cameras back and are still waiting. I'm currently researching other cameras and will be purchasing either a Canon or a Sony this weekend.

This is the worst in low light conditions, taking photos of friends in street scenes at night, nightclubs etc. There is sometimes a 5 second lag before it snaps the photo, and sometimes it simply refuses to focus. Even when it does focus in those conditions, the photos come out looking like out of focus, blurry, or grainy. The flash is often too intense, and takes too long to recharge for the next shot. They put too many features and programming software in order to "help" you take photos and make it a "smart" camera... come on!! ...a smile detector? Why don't they have one mode for people who know something about photography and want to make their own settings!! Best I can say about this camera is it has a good optical and added digital zoom, good for daylight close-up and other daylight shots.
