Coaching with NLP: How to Be a Master Coach Review: Coaching being the key word. - From a coaches standpoint, at what point are you limited by the physical skills of your athletes? There is only so much you can do to bring them to the table. They still have to do the eating, as it were. I found this book a new approach to an old dilemma. Helping athletes focus and put themselves in a place of confidence and power mentally so that their training physically can take over for success. I have used these techniques in football, lacrosse, and shot put/discus/weight/hammer events on both the high school and college levels with much success. The NLP techniques will help any athlete get past the sticking points and plateaus that mental blocks can and do create. All that is needed is a coach willing to undertake this very easily learned, easily taught approach to learning and excelling in any are of life, while minmizing and eliminating fears of failure, and ridicule that are so often a limiting factor in athlete development. Review: Great book - Loving it so far is a great book , Coaching is everything is you working on becoming a Leader

Very good basic book--not much more
If you are looking for a good basic book on this topic, this one is fine. It offers good introductory information about coaching in general and NLP. It's easy reading and offers some excellent resources at the end (over 40 pages of resources). About half of the book is on Coaching and the other half is about NLP. If, on the other hand, you are looking for something more sophisticated on the topic, this book is a little light. A better choice would be Ian McDermott's/Wendy Jago's The NLP Coach. It's not as easy to read, but it's much more comprehensive and useful to understand how to use NLP in coaching. I also think even the book "NLP for Dummies" is better.

Glad I was recommended this book and it was fairly easy to find. Chose amazon due to their consistency in delivering products as described. Would highly recommend for anyone, not just those studying NLP. Provided a lot of self-reflection, insight and tools for me.

This is not a book to be read just once, though the first read itself will significantly raise the awareness and knowledge of the reader. The mastery the authors have on this subject is reflected in the content and language. Appealing and attractive cover design with page brightness and quality as well. In case you attempt to underline key content, you might end up marking the entire book!

New to the NLP world having just completed a practitioner course - my next obvious step (to me anyway) was to chose a goal to utlise and grow my new skills. SO having enrolled on a NLP Life Skills Coaching course, I purchased this book - and so far this has become my go to bible - and I am finding the way that it is written very intuitive and easy to read. A must have for newbies like me. Thanks for writing it.

As a newly qualified Life Coach and Mentor, I studied NLP Foundation Principles and Passed that Course. I was looking for a resource I could use to help me combine the NLP skills with my coaching/mentoring and this book provides that help in bucket-loads. For any Coach, whether you want to study NLP further or not; I would highly recommend this book as a tool for your coaching abilities as a stand-alone guide in it's own right. Thankyou Joseph O'Connor for writing such a wonderful book.......
