Find and apply all related upgrades
I bought this cs90 unit to replace my cs2 unit, purchased through amazon as well, that bricked as a result of doing the last system upgrade. Tech support so far has been unresponsive since I called support last week and filed an incident. report. I really like both units, the cs2 while it was running, and the new cs90. All upgrades are lifetime free for the cs90. You need to apply all upgrades before you start to use the scanner for your vehicle. I performed all the system upgrades and thought I was done. Needed to use the tpms reset function. It would not work( worked on the cs2), saw that I needed to download a new version of the reset software. Did that, still would not work. After browsing through some of the screens, I saw a general upgrade for all Kias. I did the download and update, tpms function started working. This particular upgrade was not in any order, one needs to examine the entire list to identify and select related upgrades. This was a great deal, but the enclosed setup instructions are vague and missing some detail. The initial setup did not ask me to set up a wifi connection although the instructions indicated one was required. I had to navigate to the appropriate screen and do the wifi setup. Did what I needed it to do to start trouble shooting my wife's optima. So far so good. If tech support gets back to me, I will update my review.

Doesn't program, you pay more
So you get it and after you power it on you have to update it via wifi (couldn't use my phones hotspot). Then after you download the app you need they want you to make and account with them and hook up your credit card for annual charges. Not worth it at all.

No manual
No manual with activation code. Just quick diagram chart it says it can do more than it does. Still cool. Customer support sucks

NOT GM TAHOE COMPATIBLE
Did not work for most features for either my 03 or 05 Tahoes. ABS bleed not supported. TPMS reset not supported. ETB reset not supported. Didnt even seem to properly solve the oil light issue. What a headache and dissapointment. I called tech support (after doing the updates) to sit on hold for almost a half hour. I hung up. There was obviously nothing that could be done.I suppose its my mistake to have presumed that one of the most commonly sold vehicles sold in america would be covered... covers vahuall and ferrari though. So if you have either of those youre probably good. The device itself feels very cheap. I would be very careful not to drop this if you decide to keep it.Maybe the most annoying thing about this device is that every time you want to look into another system, maintenance item you must reenter the VIN and the supporting information it asks pertaining to the drivetrain, radio, rear brakes, etc..That information should all be saved. I probably reentered those things about 100 times trying to figure out if this device would work for what i needed it to.Just a fair heads up to Tahoe owners. Find another device

Excellent for the Price, Hardware Lacking
If you're like me, you've hunted around through the various OBD-II scanners on Amazon hoping to find a scanner that does everything for an unbeatable price. However, as you dig, you find that despite them advertising so many different reset options, that most of them only come with a handful and you have to pay to unlock the rest. This is not the case for the MUCAR CS90 Special Elite Edition! After reading through the listing carefully, I decided to grab this scanner. However, on first boot and setup, I became increasing worried as every function I clicked on in the scanner started asking me for money to use the function! I quickly wrote MUCAR, asking them about this and a day after getting the serial number for my device they told me to use the "Update" function in the scanner. After downloading and installing the update I had ALL OF THE FUNCTIONS without being asked to purchase each one now! It was legit - all of the scanner functions for one low price! Best of all - free updates for life - something many big name brands do not give you with their scanners. You can take screenshots even record on-screen video. You can press on codes to get a live look-up of code information online. Save data and print reports. Scanner can connect VIA WiFi or Bluetooth! This scanner comes with so many tools you won't need another tool any time soon. It covers a huge range of makes and models of vehicles and you can download additional modules for vehicles it doesn't come with by default. You can reset TPMS, bleed fluids, reprogram security keys, calibrate odometers, and a huge range of other tools that shops normally need a plethora of other specialty tools to handle and spend thousands of dollars on.Now, a few things I worry about. The scanner is made of a very lightweight plastic. It does not have any rubber padding nor any impact-resistant panels. If it hits the floor I am fairly sure it might crack. The only resistance it has against this is how lightweight it is, which may mitigate the risk of a fall. The OBD-II cable is hardwired in and sticks straight out of the top of the scanner. This makes storage a little complicated. There is NO OFFLINE POWER. You can ONLY access this device to review codes or data if it is plugged in with the OBD cable or USB cable. You cannot disconnect it, travel with it, or anything else, unless it is tethered with a cable. There is also no power button, so you have no option to turn it off or on - it is up to the discretion of the device itself which is kind of a nuisance. When you have a device that costs this much, you normally want to protect it. It is also a bummer that there is no storage case to keep it stowed away in or safe while not in use.Despite the few bad things, I really enjoy using this scanner so far and absolutely believe it is worth every penny it is being sold for. I have scanners that cost lots more - even some the same price - that do much less. If you do not intend on using this scanner for heavy industrial use (fear for the durability), I can safely recommend this for any potential buyer!
