AsdaDairy and Gluten Free Cherry Bakewell Tarts

Yuck!!!!! I grew up in England with bakewell tarts, but I now have IBS, so have to eat gluten free. I am also living in the USA, so ordered these online hoping they would taste like the original bakewells, or somewhat similar. Nowhere close!!! Sooooo gross!!! I ordered 3 boxes, with 4 cakes in each box. I tried one cake, my friend tried one cake, we both spat them out, the other 2 cakes from that box went in the garbage. I think unfortunately the other 2 boxes of unopened cakes will go in the garbage too as they are nasty. They taste VERY sweet and best way I can describe it is that it tastes of pure icing & nothing else. Normal bakewell tarts have some pastry taste, some sponge taste, some almond taste, little icing taste & then that little cherry taste. All we could taste was squishy icing taste that was overly sweet.If you are wanting that traditional bakewell tart taste you know & love do NOT buy these!! I promise you, you will not like them!!!
