Perfect kit, just like the one I had in the Marines
This is probably the best compact 9 mm cleaning kit that you can purchase. Very versatile and comes with everything you need. I like to buy these for gifts for my friends that I served with

Quality Product
I was very happy with my Otis Pistol Cleaning kit. The parts are all quality, as I would expect from this company. The cords and brushes feel durable and stood up well to about ten cleanings so far. The only thing that I had to do was go out and buy some more cleaning patches, as well as oil and cleaning fluid. The lube that they include is supposed to be used for both cleaning and lubrication, but I prefer to only use it as a lubricant and it does not include very much. I should say that it does fine for cleaning the weapon but I can't break some habits. These kits will save you from repeatedly buying the same parts from lesser companies. It has a nice selection of picks and punches and really makes cleaning easy. Its compact, so you can bring it to the range and run a swab through your gun at the end of the day in a flash. In my opinion, I think that most shooters would be happy with this purchase.

Best cleaning kit available
Purchased to clean a 9mm I had recently picked up. This is my 2nd otis kit. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Far better than traditional brass rod cleaning kits. Looking to purchase the full kit that covers all calibers. But these little ones are perfect for new gun owners and range carry alongs. Perfect to toss in the range bag and tote out for a quick field strip/clean come with a small pack of patches(all caliber size) and nice instruction manual. An 1 small tube of cleaner

Everything we need in a small package.
When I first got this, I thought that I'd been had. The zipped up container is no bigger than a softball in width. However, my fiance carries a .357 Sig and I carry a Glock 19 and it has everything we need to clean both. I'm not crazy about the patches, but everything else rocks! I did buy a bore snake to add to the kit, but other than that, all you need is some bore solvent and some lubricating oil. It fits in my range bag easily. I can field strip my weapon and clean it in no time with little bag space taken up. Even the fiance was impressed. I highly recommend.

A lot of cleaning tools in a compact kit, but some drawbacks.
Plenty of good-quality cleaning tools crammed in a small carrying bag. Has everything one needs for routine maintenance. Allows cleaning from breech to muzzle as advertised, however the .38 cal brass brush JUST BARELY clears the frame of my Ruger SP 101 .357. I don't think it would work on a pistol with a smaller frame. Getting the patches sized to pass through the barrel is not easy, as you've got to figure out exactly where to pinch and fold it. Takes more patience than I have, I just fold a regular square patch and thread it through the slotted tip like usual. Otis it might be easier if you mark the patches. Replacement Otis patches are expensive, but one can use garden variety square patches as I have noted.UPDATE: Figured out how to use the Otis panoply patch and it is really worth it. Cleans thoroughly with a few passes through the bore. You can actually see fouling removed from the rifling that was left by square patches. Same patch can be used multiple times, as advertised.

My favorite gun cleaning kit
I guess I have probably used all of the various gun cleaning kits over the years, and the Otis kit/system is my favorite approach to gun cleaning. I usually take the kit to the range in my gun bag and save myself the use of brass brushes by cleaning the gun while it is still warm. The thinking these days seems to lean towards this system where the barrel is cleaned from the breach forward rather than placing rods, etc., down the barrel with possible damage to the crown of the barrel hence having a potential negative impact on a gun's accuracy.I also like the fact that the Otis solvent is an all-in-one cleaner, lube and protectant. The patch system is also interesting in which the same size patch can be used for various calibers depending on how it is placed in the patch holder. If you have any questions on how this system works, there are some excellent videos on the Otis website. Also, as another reviewer pointed out, be sure you buy the precise kit that fits your needs - there are quite a few choices and they are clearly explained on the Otis website.

Great Kit Yet Received Used Worn Item From Amazon
Otis makes fine products and this kit is if you receive it new. But as I often find with Amazon these days, I received either a return or a shopworn item that had been opened and used and badly repackaged. When you pay premium prices for things you expect them to be new as advertised and sealed accordingly. I got a crumpled box and a kit that had obviously been used to clean a weapon at least once. Beware of purchasing items from Amazon that are valuable for a single or few uses and then subject to a return. I've gotten burned with shopworn musical instruments, tools, and especially cell phone accessories. If it says "retail packaging" do not buy !!! That almost always been lots of defectives or returns bought up by a third party seller where maybe 25% work. If you doubt this call the manufacturer and ask if they sell different kinds of package and to the particular seller in question. You'll find they do not do either. Beware !
