GREAT WEIGHTS
The canvas 'looks' sturdy, it is 9 inches/22.9cm wide. The weight is sand, sealed on both ends in 'plastic bags' BUT go easy removing them, don't know how thick it is. The straps are very LONG, 11.5inches/22.2cm, so once you put them on they shouldn't fall off. Even if they are too long for you, you could always cut it to the length you want. This is a GREAT BARGAIN, instead of having to buy 5lb weights all you have to do is take out the amount of weight you want to start with and slowly work up from there. I'm actually wearing them now, if you put them over your sweat pants they are comfort. Don't know if they will rub on bare skin. They completely wrap around your ankles. I have used weights before, which were half this size in width so these will be a (good) challenge. Easy to put on or take off. An easy 5 stars. NOTE: These are wide (or tall) so if you want those smaller weights, don't get these as they go to bottom of your calves.

Great for rehab on knee replacement...
A little over a year ago I had both knees replaced at the same time. When I was strong enough, the physical therapist recommended that I get leg weights to improve the strength of my legs. I looked around and finally settled on these. What I liked particularly was that I could add weights as my strength increased. They did the job for me very well and I'm glad I got them. They helped me make good progress and allowed me to do the strength training at home...not just at the physical therapy location. I had no real complaints about them except they were a bit bulky and not the easiest to put on and take off. Fortunately, with a bit of practice, I was able to get a routine down that helped make it easier. Fit and finish may not be as good as some others might have been, but I only needed them for rehab and once that was completed, I haven't used them again. Because of that, I can't speak to long-term durability. I would still recommend them.

Pros and cons of a great product.
I will start with the pros. The 10 lb. black weights are awesome. You will definitely be getting a good workout using them.-You can use them for general walking with extra weight on your person.-If you’re walking, they are great for lunges and high knees and butt kicks.-They are easy to put on and take off.-They work great for wrists, too, maybe even better.-The material/construction appears solid, after a couple of walks around the block, no issues.-They could possibly be converted into something worn on the torso, but I haven’t explored that yet. The Velcro gives one ideas.I gave them a trial run walking around the block. Not the best decision but I learned the pros and now for the few cons:-Since they are 10 pounds, which is heavy for wearable weights, they will sometimes bump against each other when walking.-The weights WILL rub against the Achilles tendon behind your ankle. I got a busted blister On one ankle and tenderness on the other while wearing them. I recommend Taking short distances while wearing thick socks under the weights. I changed into crew socks from ankle socks but the damage was done.-Related to the previous note, the material is durable and hard so it is not gentle on the skin.-The weights are a little bulky so be ready for the way they look when you wear them. Think inflatable armbands.Overall, they are what I was looking for and I have zero regrets buying them.

Simple, large, effective.
Reviews for this class of weight can be silly, including categories such as "most stylish". This product is not. It also includes far more weight than anything else I could find. The product is simple. Two holders, each with one large zipper that closes up five pouches, and two long velcro closures. Each pouch has a two pound plastic bag of sand which can be individually removed for any combination desired of weights distributed around the holder. Using the zipper is only required when changing the weight. Normal use does not require opening it.The holder is robust and completely surrounds the sandbags, which appear fragile and need to be handled carefully when not in the holder. Inside with the zipper closed, they seem to be in no danger at all. Donning and doffing is simple. Wrap the product around your ankle above your boot, thread the velcro through the buckle and secure. The velcro is plenty long enough to accommodate from zero to all five sandbags included. Doffing can take some work to peel off the velcro, which is extremely strong. Everything is black so finding the end of the velcro strap takes a moment.I am 77" tall and the product fits around my ankles with plenty of room to spare. I currently use only two pouches per leg so there is considerable free velcro length. I do not anticipate any issues with all five installed. With considerably smaller individuals, the product will wrap around more and the velcro goes all the way around so there should be no issues. I wear knee high socks and have no issues with comfort. The product has no sharp edges or exposed velcro on the inside but I would not recommend use on bare skin. Full height hiking boots work great, I do not know how trail running or other low shoes would handle something of this size and weight.Four pounds per leg makes a very substantial difference in effort in my morning walks. Getting to the full ten will be very marked and provide great benefit. Recommended.
