Hubby says “worth its weight in gold!”
First off let me say “where was this two months ago?.”A few months ago we’d bought some aftermarket fenders for our 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The front fenders were simple to put on and we had them done in minutes. Imagine our surprise when we realized the rear fenders required the installation of rivnuts to hold them in place. The kit came with a makeshift tool that stripped out after the first few rivnuts and we were left with having to rig up an alternative solution using a bolt and some nuts. Right now the fenders are on but there are a couple of the rivnuts that aren’t in place properly. So I decided to give this tool a shot and see if we could fix them the right way.Upon first inspection my husband is very impressed with this set. He tends to be a bit OCD about his tools and this set really impressed him. Everything is labeled and has a spot in the carrying case so it won’t get lost or misplaced. He said the included step bit is a huge plus and something that wasn’t included in a lot of the kits I’d looked at so that’s another win.He said if he had to say something bad it would be that the rivnuts themselves (which again, a plus that there are so many included) we’re just in little bags instead of having a dedicated spot in the case.. but the bags are labeled with the size so it’s just a nit picky thing and certainly not worth docking a star. The other thing worth mentioning if you’ve not dealt with these before is that the instructions tell you to use the step bit to drill a hole of the “appropriate size for the rivnut you’re installing” but there’s nothing saying what size hole you need for each nut so it could potentially trip you up but it’s easily rectified by measuring the nut or just starting small and checking at each stage to see if you need to go up. Again, not a complaint but something to be aware of.Overall we’re rather happy with this kit and will recommend it to any of our Jeep friends who do their own mods. Just wish I’d bought one sooner!Update: hubby just finished installing another set of aftermarket fenders on a Jeep Wrangler and announced this tool was “worth its weight in gold!” What previously took hours of drilling and playing with a vendor provided rivet tool took all of 25 minutes with this tool. 16 riv nuts in less than half an hour! Seriously anyone who does work on a Jeep (installing body part specifically) needs to have one of these.

Marsbase 13" rivet nut tool
Marsbase rivet nut tool... husband says it should come with LOTS more rivets, so a little disappointing there. However, the nut tool works as expected. One of the most useful tools for fastening things that you can own
If you’re reading this, then you likely already know what a rivnut nutsert is and you already know how incredibly useful these tools are, but in the event that you don’t however, well you’ve just discovered one of the most invaluable tools you can possibly own when it comes to joining things. While a pure blind riveter is nice as it lets you join two things together, it is rather permanent. For example, if you were to rivet a panel in place, you’re not taking it off unless you drill those rivets out. With nutserts however, after drilling holes in the panel and where you want it, you then have the ability to turn those holes into threaded bolt holes instead. You can then bolt on your panel and take it off in the future if desired.Having a good quality setting tool makes all the difference in the world. Low end tools can leave you frustrated, but with this one there is no struggle to set dies, the arms give plenty of leverage and torque, and you also have the ability to fine tune the adjustment to properly set the nutsert, consistently every time. The tool comes in a nice fitted case with plenty of room to keep not only the tool itself but also an assortment of rivnuts. It has a mandrel you can use to do the drilling, though I personally prefer to just use a drill bit, and it also has a wrench you can use if anything gets stuck.Overall, this tool absolutely performs across the board. I’ve used it to set many nutserts and they’ve all locked in extremely solidly and held up over time. I’ve used them not only on steel, but plastic as well and they work great for both fabrication and repair jobs. I would recommend this tool to anyone, and it is incredibly useful, you won’t regret it.PS: If you use them on plastic and you’re able to get to the back side of the material, use a steel washer for increased strength.

Not durable
Used it for maybe 2 dozen fasteners and the threaded parts have gotten damaged where the tool compresses the rivet nut. Now it’s unusable.

Works well, poor directions.
Works great when set up correctly. A bit of grease on the moving parts goes a long way. Out of the box it's not set up well. You need to adjust the large knerald end so that it has room toove the die in far enough to compress the rivnut. It's easy to figure out once you have it in your hands. Directions are about useless, check out YouTube if you need help. I have a large one but it's hard to get in small places so this helps with that. Going to replacing the rivet's skid plate on my can am x3 with rivnuts to aid in removal, the big ones needed me to lift the sxs up a good bit where this will allow me to just get under it. Comes with a bunch of rivnuts, step drill and all the needed mandrels and dies.
