Anti-sway Works Well...
This CURT 17200 Trailer Anti-Sway Bar Control Kit works well. This is a simple yet effective sway control device. It is essentially a brake pad clamped to a flat bar. The tightness of the clamp can be adjusted by turning the adjustment screw. I have tried several adjustments and can definitely hear it groaning when making slow turns.I guess that means it's working.Installation could be better. Self tapping screws (these are not self drilling) are easily stripped and not what I would consider reliable. I prefer to drill through the frame and use grade 8 bolts, although I haven't done that yet and the included mounting screws have been okay so far (500 +- miles). The little ball joints and presto pins that mount it seem fairly cheesy but have worked sufficiently. It mounts and dismounts easily. This is used on my 26" travel trailer that weighs about 6000 pounds. Tow vehicle is 2011 Chevy Avalanche, so its a pretty soft ride compared with a pickup truck. I towed it a couple times with no sway control and it was indeed quite "wandering". 70 mph on the interstate was fairly tiring and at times stressful. This sway control is a noticeable improvement. Now I can keep up with traffic without as many "oh-crap" moments.I also installed a Curt 8000lb. weight distribution hitch and that works great to level out the vehicle. Highly recommended for Chevy Avalanche and Suburban / Tahoe with coil spring rear suspension. These vehicles ride nice but really sag when trailering anything heavy.

It works!
To date I have never pulled a trailer with less than a 3/4- or 1-ton pickup. We bought (2) E bikes and I set up a new all enclosed 5x8 trailer to be pulled by our Volkswagen Tiguan. With the cost of these E bikes, their size/weight, keeping road grime/weather off of them it made the most sense to protect them inside a small trailer. My concern pulling a trailer with a smaller vehicle. I like to run hard with good equipment.I have seen littles trailers whip back and forth down the highway for years. Realizing there are many factors, and the trailer must be loaded properly with 10% to 15% tongue weight. I purchased (2) of these Kurt units one for each side of the trailer tongue. I drove about 280 miles in a 20mph winds. Very impressed how they worked. More impressed with the value for the money. These honestly work well as an anti-sway device. I had my wife drive it for about 60 miles and she said she didn't know a trailer was even hooked on to her car. A real win!

You don't want the tail wagging the dog.
Have not had a chance to tow with this installed, yet. Son-in-law says his works great. Simple install, but use a really good drill bit.

50% improvement!
I have a 15' single axle camp trailer. When a cross wind or large truck passes by, it tosses around on the highway...it looks like a dog wagging it's tail. The instructions could be a little more clear, it doesn't tell you how tight the adjustment arm should be. My camper already had the mount ball on the frame, so if I decide to get a second anti-sway setup I'll have an extra to use. Very easy to put on and take off, I noticed after the first 20 minutes my trailer had wonderful improvement in the handling. It will only be used twice a year, but it's a great addition to keep things secure.

Does what it should
Seems to have tamed sway on a fairly small Tab RV trailer. The fit between the bar and ball mounts is a bit loose and seems to rattle some, but otherwise good. I did not use the self tappers, and instead elected to through bolt with grade 8 hardware.

Great value add to stabilize your ride
I drive a SUV with a short wheel base, and often tow a travel trailer in-season. It gets a lot of wind resistance, and on windy days at highway speed, I'm white-knuckling the steering wheel so that my vehicle isn't thrown around like a play-thing.This anti-sway kit is the perfect safety upgrade. I had a local welding shop attach the ball to my drop-hitch, and my trailer already had a ball welded to the frame. First drive with the Curt hardware and I felt a huge difference. If you're towing anything that's got a decent amount of weight, this type of setup is a must. Great value for stability.
