Another super-fun addition to the Ticket to Ride game family
My family loves playing Ticket to Ride. Ticket to Ride Europe is our favorite edition. We were recently visiting London with our daughters. We found this and thought it would be the perfect Christmas gift to remind them of our time there. We had so much fun playing this. It has various items on the map through downtown London that we remembered visiting. It just means so much more when you've been there in person! The game is small and lightweight and easy to pack and travel with. Everything is included that is needed in the game, so it is not an expansion pack but a standalone game. Since it's smaller, the gameplay is much faster than the normal TTR game. This is great if you only have time for a quick game, or for a good transition game on game night between longer strategy games!

Ticket to ride
Few of us have come this far in our gaming adventures without crossing paths with at least one of the Ticket to Ride games. For many of us it is among the first games we play. In my case, Ticket to Ride: Europe was my first ‘real’ board game and I still have it in my collection. Ticket to Ride: New York is a newer edition and offers a smaller/quicker gaming option. Let’s see how it holds up.GameplayUnsurprisingly, Ticket to Ride: New York plays quite similarly to the other games in the series. While instead of train routes you are connecting cab routes, mechanically the games are the same. For an added bit of strategy, there are tourist attractions that reward the player for passing as part of their route, so keep that in mind when you’re placing your cabs!On each turn players have the option of drawing cards, playing cabs or acquiring new routes for scoring.ComponentsThe art on the cards is functional and the cards themselves are of a good quality. The cab pieces are as solid as the train pieces from any other version in the Ticket to Ride series. The game board is quite small, but this is by design. This game is meant to be quick to set up and tear down, and is even a good option for travelling. Instead of a score track, the game includes a score pad and pencil. My thoughtsIf you enjoy any of the Ticket to Ride games, you will likely enjoy this more condensed version. Myself, I don’t get the larger Ticket to Ride games out anymore unless I am playing with non gamers. That makes the New York edition an asset in my collection as it allows the Ticket to Ride experience in less than 20 minutes compared to the 45 - 60 minute larger experience. I also play this edition the most as a 2 player experience.Verdict:At this point, I would suggest this for anyone who may be a little burnt out on Ticket to Ride games; someone who still looks fondly upon the game but may not want the larger time commitment. Also, if you’re already into games but haven’t experienced the Ticket to Ride games, this is a simple entry point at a smaller price point. If you did not like the previous Ticket to Ride games this one will do nothing to change your mind.

Ticket to Ride: Europa 1912 (Expansion) Review by Dad's Gaming Addiction
“Europa 1912″ is the expansion to “Ticket to Ride: Europe” and like “USA 1910″ (the expansion to the original “Ticket to Ride”), you’ll need the base game in order to play it.Warehouses & DepotsEach player will get a warehouse and five depots at the beginning of the game. In counter-clockwise order, starting with the last player, they’ll seed one depot onto an empty city. Whenever players opt to draw train cards on their turn, they MUST take one from the deck and place it next to any player’s warehouse (which is sitting in front of them). Players still get to draw two train cards per turn when they opt to do so.When a player claims a route that contains a depot, they may discard one of their own depots (which are sitting in front of the player) to take all of the train cards from that player’s warehouse. Players can also, as a free action on their turn, place one of their unused depots onto an empty city…placed depots cannot be returned to the player and they cannot be discarded to utilize the collection of train cards after claiming a route with a depot. The person with the most unused depots at the game’s end scores ten bonus points.VariantsPlayers can opt to use any of these new variants (taken from the manual):Europe Expanded – Add the 19 new regular routes (with the 1912 logo) to the original set of Destination Tickets (cards without a 1912 logo). All other rules remain unchanged.Mega Europe – Shuffle all 12 long routes together, and deal 2 to each player. Each player may keep one or none, but not both. Discard all long routes that aren’t kept; remove them from the game. Shuffle all the other Tickets (both regular and big city, new and original) from this expansion together and deal 5 to each player. If a player kept a long route, he must now keep at least 2 of these other Tickets. If he didn’t keep a long route, he must keep at least 3 instead. All other rules remain unchanged.Big Cities of Europe – The long routes are not used in this version. Place the Big Cities of Europe card visible to all players. Shuffle all big city Tickets (cards with the Big Cities logo). Deal 5 to each player. Each player must keep at least 2. During the game, if a player chooses to Draw Destination Tickets, he draws 4 and must keep at least 1.The ReviewCompared to “USA 1910″, this expansion offers a bit more, what with the inclusion of warehouses and depots. The “USA 1910″ expansion was a bit more cosmetic, I felt, as it mainly addressed the card size and added new routes (but no new gameplay mechanics as significant as warehouse and depots). The warehouses and depots can even be used in the regular “Ticket to Ride” game, if you happen to own both. I’ll say here what I said about the “USA 1910″ expansion…it’s great for folks who play “Ticket to Ride” religiously, but not necessary to get the full enjoyment out of the core game.

Great Game
If you like the original Ticket to Ride this provides a similar format, but runs a little quicker. This has been a fun family game for times when we want a little shorter gameplay, or want to play multiple games back to back.
