Sleeping better
I've navigated sleep disturbances for over a dozen years. Initially, the broken sleep was due to inflammation caused by a severe allergic reaction to fluoroquinolone antibiotics (cipro, levaquin), which led to a hyper-reactivity to all kinds of foods and all additives/preservatives etc. It's hard to test, but it's likely that I developed MCAS.I cleared a ton of inflammation through diet (very clean keto), but not before perimenopause settled in. It was obvious that hormones were a major factor as my sleep was consistently worse Cycle Day 11, 12, 13 (ovulation) and Cycle Days 21-28. My cycle also shortened from 28 to approx. 26 days for about a year. I noticed spotting a week after my flow and around ovulation. I started getting flashes at night that woke me up. Then, for two cycles in a row, I had night sweats on CD 25-28. After consulting a few health care practitioners and ordering a few labs, I learned that my FSH levels were not peri or even menopausal but postmenopausal!Because I do not tolerate Chinese herbal formulas, black cohosh, soy isoflavones, and because tofu seemed to help a bit (even though its high histamine and a histamine liberator), I decided to try this estrogen cream. I wanted something that was as natural as possible, with minimal ingredients, no scent, and that bypassed the digestive system. I chose the purple over the pink bottle, bc the purple has no parabens etc.The good news: After a few days of applying the cream to my wrists and abdomen once per day in the morning (as recommended), the hot flashes went away and my sleep has improved. I went from being awake 1-3 hours per night to 15-45 minutes. I'll take it!I'll update this review after I've walked through a few cycles with this cream. Because my symptoms seem to alternate intensity every other month, it's likely that one ovary has few to no follicle reserves, while my other ovary still has some mojo. I mention that because my current cycle may be easier in part because my body has more estrogen already circulating due to the more robust ovary. As per some more research, at Cycle Day 14, I added a few drops of a progesterone cream in the evening. The first night was great and i slept 9.5 hrs (!), but then, after the 3rd night, I had difficulty falling asleep, I woke for about an hour, I noticed cramping and some blood in with the ovulation fluid, plus my breasts were sore and distended. So! It appears that i'm very sensitive to even trace amounts of progesterone, since that low dose confused the body into starting to shed the uterine lining. I will hold off using until maybe CD 26, if I use it at all. I mention that only because I haven't read anything like that in people's reviews of this estrogen or the progesterone cream.I wanted to give as much information as possible because perimenopause and menopause are not talked enough about and often we find ourselves in it without a ton of information or guidance aside from the most popular, dominant theories and limited allopathic suggestions. In the medical world, I've been a consistent outlier, maybe you are too.I hope this helps someone & Wishing you well on this journey!

No more hot flashes !!!!!
I had daily hot flashes before I bought this. I don’t get them anymore thanks to this product. It really works and I typically don’t leave reviews.

It’s a help for menopausal women
I was very skeptical at first and a bit apprehensive with that, but my Physician’s Assistant urged me to give an bioidentical estrogen cream from Amazon a try. She also told me to use a bioidentical progesterone cream, and to use DHEA as well.I came home and did further research as my PA urged me to and I waded through all the different options on Amazon which took several days for me to settle on since I was also doing research on my situation and what I needed.I decided to go with Smokey Mountain on the bioidentical Advanced formula Estro-Life and Progesto-Life creams. Decided to take an oral Micronozed DHEA 25 mg. 1x Daily from Douglas Laboratories. Most studies say 50 mg. Is better but I am going to just work up to that to avoid any side effects which some report. So far, so good. Also taking Pregnenalone 50mg. Micronized Lipid Matrix by Allergy Research Group. Both DHEA and Pregnenelone are products of cholesterol which your body uses to make hormones. Study up more on that and talk to doctors who really care and guide you properly and honestly.I am on a high fat ketogenic diet and pretty meat heavy, but recently I started just losing my appetite. I do have some newly diagnosed (over the last 3-4 years new,) thyroid Disease, other autoimmune issues and had early hysterectomy in my early 30’s because of severe, severe endometriosis. So, having said that my issues are pretty rotten, but if you’re having similar issues, just read on and maybe some of what I have to say here will help. Just really really research well and like I say, talk to a good doctor if you can find one.I’m just a sick, regular Jane with no fancy doctors or stinkin’ of money. Was a former healthcare person till my illnesses ruined everything in my life. Just trying to research ways to claw my way out of this mire as best I can. Little by little, gaining a few inches of ground. Changing my diet did change up the game so do try it.It helps the other things you do to work better and hopefully get you going on the path to more natural ways of taking care of yourselves, which really is the best. Don’t say you’re too old to care. You’re never too anything to care.Anyhoo, I was feeling real bad and so angry and agitated for several months and when my Dr. decided to do labs on my hormones, we found out I had nothing BUT testosterone. Lab value was 16 which actually isn’t ridiculous for a post menopausal woman. But I had zero estrogen and progesterones to make me a sane person, so I was raging and that was not normal for me at all. Glad I went to the doctor with it because I really felt bad about being constantly snappy and snippy and feeling out of control. So, I tried the Smokey Mountain products without the DHEA and Pregnenalone at first because the order on those took about a week more than I wanted, but I did notice the creams from Smokey Mountain seemed to be helping me out and pretty quickly. Like from the first few doses. I felt a bit calmer and I was able to go to sleep easier and sleep a bit more soundly after the first 3 nights of treatment.I didn’t even auto-subscribe because I wanted to make sure it would work at least good enough to make me feel more normal than I was. After a month of doing all this, I feel a ton better. I was worried about it and I am not going to lie… I was really worried about some of the reviews here and scared to death I was going to be wasting my money. And I don’t know what the situations are for those women as to why it didn’t work for them. It can be user error or a whole litany of other reasons they may not even be aware of, but it is helping me. I don’t appear to be having any mild or severe adverse side effects that I’m acutely aware of at this time from these Smokey Mountain products. If you’re suffering or find you are in a similar fix with other health conditions like me, I will tell you the same thing my PA told me, at least give it a try to see if it may help you and give you even just a little bit more relief till you can do something better because you may be surprised like me.I was on only a small dose of prescription Estrodiol, but it wasn’t really enough to help me and my Gyn didn’t want to increase my dose and I was still majorly suffering with so many symptoms due to being in a post menopausal state. So I figured why take it if I can’t have the full range of hormones to help balance me out when much research suggests your whole body is going through total havoc because you no longer can produce all these hormones in the first place? There are studies that show even post menopausal women can benefit from the full range of hormone treatment and be balanced at ANY age whether you still have your ovaries or not or still have a uterus or not. You still need them because you’re still a female and you benefit from a little if everything. Makes sense to me.Everything started going wrong with me after I got my complete hysterectomy. It really affects you on multiple systemic levels. After I did my research I was really shocked about all the things that go wrong with your body when you can’t produce enough or can’t make these hormones. After going through all of this, I see how important hormone optimization is.So, definately look into this stuff seriously. I will have labs drawn in another 2 or 3 weeks to see how the combined treatments are actually helping or not. Could wind up that I may have to see an endocrinologist to straighten me out proper, but for now, these creams do appear to help in a meaningful way.Good luck with your research and make a goal to get balanced.

New formula in October 2024 is bad. :(
I have used this advanced formula product for the past couple of years and have absolutely loved it. However, now that it contains retinol, I unfortunately have to look for a new product. Retinol is known to thin the skin, there are better products for wrinkles. I think it was a terrible mistake by the company to decide that everyone using this product wants retinol. I do use it on my face, and live in sunny New Mexico. Retinol makes your skin extremely sensitive to the sun. When using a retinol product I will burn if I’m out in the sun for five minutes before putting my sunscreen on for the day, or if I forgot my sunscreen. In my opinion, the extra sun damage that can come from using a retinol product will age your skin far more than a retinol product would ever help your skin. Please, please bring back the original advanced formula, we do not want these unnecessary ingredients! Also, as an aside, I was surprised to learn from my grandmother when she was 70 years old that she had been using retinol for 20 years. She said she felt like it did nothing to benefit her skin. In my observations of her, I definitely did not see a benefit, if anything, it aged her skin more quickly than other women her age.
