It's especially helpful when ausculating faint heart and lung sounds, when the patient is obese, or when listening through clothing. The bi-lumen (dual channel) cardiology headset optimizes the acoustic pathway, with heavy-walled tubing, large-diameter aural tubes, and a double-leaf tensioning spring that withstands thousands of cycles.

I an an older physician and need amplification from a stethoscope. This is marketed as one that amplifies. I compared it to current Sprague scope and frankly the difference is minimal. Certainly not what its marketed to do and virtually worthless for my needs. Not worth the money at all. I have no idea who would rate this higher than a 1.

I lost a lot of hearing from being in the Marines and had a hard time auscultating fine lung sounds
I have been using this stethoscope for a 3mo and so far have have very few issues with it. I lost a lot of hearing from being in the Marines and had a hard time auscultating fine lung sounds. I decided to give these a try and have been pleased. The only issue I have really noticed is that in a type 2 (van style) ambulance they pick up road noise, but in the type 3 I haven’t had too much of a issue.
