I purchased the Simulated Alexandrite. And although the piece looks beautiful overall, it does not have the optical properties that simulated alexandrite should have. The stone in this piece stayed an amethyst color no matter what kind of light was shined on it. I tried florescent, incandescent, sunlight, LED and it wouldn't change color no matter what.

I bought this as a mother's day gift for my mother-in-law, she loves it. It is very pretty. My two complaints would be that it comes with a very thin and short chain and it comes loose in a drawstring bag instead of in a jewelry box. Still, it is very pretty.

The chain broke the second time my granddaughter put her necklace on, very disappointed. Her mom was actually helping her when it broke.
