Great flashlight!
Ordered one of these two years ago during a black Friday sale. It was inexpensive (12.99) and I was worried it would be garbage. But, it was cheap enough I figured I wasn't out too much if I didn't like it. Well.... About 5 months later I ordered another for the house, and one for my husband's truck because we loved the first one so much! You can never have too many flashlights. 😉 My oldest son just bought a house, and I gave two of those flashlights to him, and I just ordered me another one! To be honest, I'll probably order one or two more in the future as well for my other kids who are now out on there own. These flashlights are incredibly bright. I love the zoom function and the flood function. We live out in the mountains with plenty of cougars, bears, bobcats, racoons, possums and coyotes. The footprints in the morning are generally all you ever see of the bigger creatures, but from time to time a bear or cougar decides to make its way up around the house when someone is outside, so a really good flashlight is necessary when going outside at night, and I fully trust these ones! I have never had any of these flashlights fail in any way, and I highly recommend them to everyone.

Absolutely the BEST flashlight I've ever owned!
I love this flashlight! The beam is AWESOME and brighter than my old mag light.I like the ability to use the rechargeable battery or use disposable batteries. The only small complaint I have is it takes hours to fully charge the battery.

A Flashlight Like No Other You Have Tried
The media could not be loaded. [I recommend watching the video i included in this review so you can see it in action]Really great flashlight overall, I've always had those normal 20-50 lumen flashlights you buy on stores the $5-10 yellow plastic flashlights you find everywhere and they have always been meh but since i didn't know better i was happy with them. Most would rely only on normal AA batteries and didn't had rechargeable included batteries, the last ones i had bought did have it and let me tell you included rechargeable batteries is a must now.Well finally some weeks ago i was browsing the internet and came around to find this product, had pretty solid reviews and stated that it has 800 lumen, so i was like WOW gotta try it. Bought it and oh man once i tried and use it it was a day and light difference with those other lame flashlights, lets start with the build, this one's made from aluminum alloy and feels super sturdy and that it can withstand some drops, the other flashlights I've had in the past where all plastic and would always break because you know flashlights somehow will always eventually fall down but i'm confident that when that happens to this flashlight it WILL survive without a problem. The brightness is awesome, again first time I've tried a 100+ lumen flashlight and i'm amazed by that power this small flashlight has, it is smaller than all other flashlights I've had and its like 50x brighter. So there you go, definitely recommended at this price and even if it was some $ more i would say it is worth it and that it will be a total difference from what you are used to when buying on normal stores. The only thing i'm not liking so much is the square shape of the light when its totally focused, it doesn't affect anything at all its just weird... maybe it's because i'm so used to just circular shaped light beams.

Not What It Used to Be!
I have purchased 3 of these flashlights over the past 4 years (2016, 2017, 2018). I have been a big fan but with the most recent purchase I have noticed 3 changes - all for the worse:1) The brightness of the light is at least 150-200 lumens less than in previous years (I compared them side-by-side in the dark.”).2) The switch mechanism is clunkier, clicks louder, and works less efficiently.3) The case size and quality has been reduced. There are no longer sponge cutouts to hold each piece of the flashlight. In fact, the case barely holds its contents and is difficult to close and stay closed.

For a budget light, it's a little better than many others.
For a budget light, it's not bad. Here are the stats. Without the head extended it's 5.3" long. It's just a hair over 6" WITH the head extended. It weighs 172 grams with the included 18650 battery installed. It has the usual modes -- low, medium, high, strobe & SOS. There's no memory, so it will always turn back ON in high mode. To cycle through the modes, give the switch a very light press while it's on. The head has fairly good tension when moving it forward and backward. It stays in place where it's left. The product page here, says it's 800 lumens. Well, for the first time, this is actually a budget flashlight that does NOT artificially inflate its claim! In comparison of the beam brightness, I took out my Sunwayman T25C, which is a higher-end focusing light. Its claim to brightness is 880 lumens. In an unscientific side by side test, the beams of BOTH lights were identical. When I compared the OxyLED next to the "supposedly" 900 lumen beam of the Refun A100, the Oxy was BRIGHTER. I've always known the A100 isn't 900 lumens...and the Oxy proved that. Here are my thoughts on the included battery and charger.Charge the battery when you first open the package. Mine arrived with a "travelling voltage" of 3.76The battery label claims 1800mAh...which is rather weak. I ran the light (on high) to see how long that might last. After about 20 minutes the light was noticeably warm...to mild hot. This is normal. I continued to let it run, and it did so for just over an hour before the output started to dim.The battery (like most that are included FREE in flashlight kits) is not protected with an over-discharge circuit. I know this, because as I continued to let the light run...the output became dimmer and dimmer. After it became so dim that the light is essentially useless, I tested the battery voltage again. It was down to 2.60v. Obviously there's no circuit, otherwise it would not have been allowed to discharge that deeply. I then charged the battery completely to see how many mA's the battery would accept. When finished, it was at 1218mAh. This is certainly less than the claimed 1800. The didn't try the included charger, however it says on the back, that it uses a 500mA current. That's not too bad...but, for a depleted 18650, that would take many hours to complete (probably more than 8 depending on the capacity).Anyway, I guess for the price they're charging, it's not bad. They say it's IPX-6 waterproof... but I haven't used it heavy rain so I wouldn't know. They say it has an impact resistant glass lens... may be so, I haven't dropped it from 5 feet to find out. Of course it doesn't have the features of a $40 light...it can't. Of course you have to cycle through the flashing modes to get from medium...back to high; because they're not hidden. Of course the light dims when the battery weakens, because it has no voltage regulation circuit. For this price...it can't.As for batteries, it comes with the cage to accept 3 AAA's as a backup for the 18650. But with ANY 18650 flashlight that offers AAA capabilities...you're a fool if you choose those as your primary power source. An 18650 is ALWAYS the better choice!Take a look at the pictures I've attached. I think they'll give you a pretty good idea what to expect ---beam-wise--- with the OxyLED.Hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.

Great Torch for a great Price
Bought this because a friend of mine had something similar, and when I saw how much light output was possible from a tiny torch, I knew I wanted one. And after much research, I settled on this, for a few reasons:- Battery is included- Light output seems decent. And it doesn't claim 1-2000 lumen like others, when in reality, for under $30, one knows that is very unlikely. This just claims 500. I have no way of actually measuring that, but, it seems enough for me.- Hand Strap- Many other positive reviews. When I received the unit, I got the typical plastic case that most of these torches seem to come with. When I opened it, everything inside was packaged nicely. Came with everything described in the ad, plus a user manual, and a warranty card, so I was happy. It also has the adapter for the AAA batteries as well, but haven'y used that. I would assume that using AAA batteries, the light would not be as strong, and/or last as long, but it's good to have and alternative in case of emergency. Anyway, I popped in the battery, and it worked. I can verify that that the 4 modes work well: high - mid - low - strobe - SOS., as well as the zoom features. To scroll through the four modes, once the torch is on, one just needs to lightly (very light - maybe 1/2 the pressure it took to turn it on) press on the green button and it will cycle through the stages one by one. As for the zoom, one just needs to lightly pull on the top part of the torch - the ticker end, with the lens, and pull it out towards the direction of the light (outward, away from the user, if light is pointing away from the user as well).Being winter, and cold here, I haven't had the chance to use the torch too much, or take any picture outside yet. But I have tried it briefly, and it is very bright indeed. On the High setting, and no zoom, the beam is wide. It would light the equivalent of about 2.5 - 3 lanes (on a road) if I would stand in the center median - so approximately 1.5 lanes to my right, and 1.5 lanes to my left. As for how far it goes... I honestly cannot tell. At full zoom, with all the light focused in a square, it's long. It stopped in some trees maybe 300-400 meters away - not sure though. I'll try some more accurate measurements and I'll update this.As for the built quality, it's great. Period. Not just for the price, but it actually fells very solid. Can't speak to durability just yet since I have had this for about 1 week, and used it very little, but it does feel solid in my hand. So, conclusion:PRO-battery included-battery charger included-nice case-hand strap-good build quality-great light output-user manual (not really needed, but, still, nice to have)CON:-the hand strap feels flimsy. Not sure how much force it can actually hold.Overall, very happy with he product.

Keyword: Tactical!
Was looking for an inexpensive flashlight that had the features of an expensive one. It's like branded vs non branded. This does not disappoint. I found it reasonably priced so i tried it. The modes are perfect for different situations, you just have to click till you get to the desired light mode. Nevertheless the brightness is impressive and to top it all, the batteries are rechargeable via USB port. Charging does not take too long as well and battery life is impressive. I charged 2 or 3 times already, the first 2 were when i checked it out over a month and it had little charge left, while the third was because of constant use which was close to 3 weeks. So not bad at all.Now when you say tactical, the build quality is superb, operating it is smooth and the handling is very tactile. You could use it for some other ways i.e self defense or any survival situations where you would need to punch your way through. It is very hard and well built. Even through a couple of accidental drops, this tool withstood the shock with just minor scuffs. The wear and tear effect makes it look even more durable. This is a must have in your house or in your carry pouch. Small yet powerful. Highly recommended.

Would Recommend .
This definitely is not a 1000 lumen flashlight, I bought an Olight S2R II and it is much brighter, but at the same time this one I would guesstimate would be doing around 300 lumens which sounds low but it really isn't.The charging is annoying compared to the Olight but for this price it's made very solid and the zoom feature is quite good. I would recommend this to anyone. However; if you want more convenience the Olight has a magnetic charging cable.

Could be brighter
When I received the the LED flashlight which came in it's own plastic case, it was not wrapped in anything, it looked used. Although there was a plastic sticker with an Amazon barcode on the bottom of the case indicating that it is new - kind of hard to tell. Anyhow, once opened it looked used, again no wrapping of any kind, it had a crumpled up user's manual with a business card size warranty card. Gee! Also once assembled the battery worked without charging! The light function as it should in all 4 modes, but it is not as bright as I expected it when compared to another one I have about the same size etc, but from a different manufacturer.

The definition of awesome!
Just recieved this today because i needed a compact light for work and first click on and i'm shocked how bright the light was for the price! The zoom feature to adjust the light is very cool without worrying about the head coming off compared to other models in price point. The SOS and strobe modes were cool to try out i'd find it a life saver in a emergency situation if needed. The only downside is i wish this had a clip instead of a lanyard but overall i highly suggest this product for everyday use or for work purposes and in emergencies. The build, the concept, the functionality of this flashlight is beyond what i have used over the years because i haven't seen a very affordable flashlight with a rechargeable battery and charger with the extra Triple A battery piece for using the flashlight where electricity is not accessible how freaking sweet is that!!for the price of it and with HISGADGET i look forward to buying more things from you and hope you make a UV or multicolored lens version of this like red lense blue lense etc.
