PHILIPS Sparkling Water Maker Soda Maker Soda Streaming Machine for Carbonating with 1L Carbonating Bottle, Seltzer Fizzy Water Maker, Compatible with Any Screw-in 60L CO2 Carbonator(NOT Included)

I'm not related nor paid for this review. At EVERY gaz injection burst, low pressure and a lot is - you can hear it - lost from the security valve in the machine. As well, we loose a lot of gaz in the empty section in the bottle (the part above the liquid): We cannot mix the gaz in the water before we oppen the bottle. Mainly: I needed 6-8 bursts of 4 seconds, everytime, with a lot wasted by the security valv at the end of each burst. At 3rd gaz tank, without apparent reason, most gaz is heard leaking from the machine and not going into the bottle. I tried another brand in which the same tank worked perfectly: namely the Drinkmate OmniFizz. It's day and night compared to the Philips. This machine is unbealeavable compared to the other one: The system seams designed for handling more pressure in least amounth of bursts, but in a safe way. The Drinkmate OmniFizz security valve triggers only when the bottle is filled at maximum pressure allowed, only after 1 to 3 short bursts of 1 second. Even one 1-second burst can do the job sometimes. Then the other genius advantage: we can take the bottle out of the machine without openning it yet. We then can put it upside down or gently shake it for the accumulated gaz at the top mix with the liquid. All that, before we open the bottle! But still the bottle is filled with pressure, we can release it by a manual valve, before opening the bottle in a safe. (It's really a different design philosophy serving a higher pressure) Finally, we don't need to screw and unscrew the bottle: just a tiny horizontal twist until it clicks. Result: faster handling, lots of gaz, shorted operation time. Even though there remains a lot of pressure tou outgaz, before we open the bottle, I feel it uses less gaz for the same result. I consider my Phillips machine useless (But sold by Amazon, Philips refunded it to me, just by shortly describing the problem, they didn't even bother to help solve it). I think they know their design problems.

I really like this soda maker. It looks nice on the counter and is very easy to use. I also drink a lot more water since I've had it which is a healthy bonus. I would have given it five stars but the carbonator bottle came without a lid. I have connected with Philips who were supposed to get back to me within 48 hours but so far haven't heard from them. Fortunately I have a glass bottle with a flip-top stopper so I transfer the carbonated water into it immediately. So far so good! It's a bit of a nuisance but I hate sending things back - so wasteful. I'm hoping that Philips comes through with a lid.

Sold and shipped by Amazon Australia but does not work with Australian canisters - very disappointing!

I actually love this! I totally thought it would suck, but it works great and is much easier to clean. I wish it fit other bottles though.
