Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Figural Pumpkin Cocotte, 4 qt., Sea Salt

I recieved the white pumpkin with a loose handle & a few scratches that I didn’t think would come out but I went ahead and tightened the lid & used the Le Creuset restorative cleaner as directed & it polished out beautifully with just a little time and elbow grease, I couldn’t believe it, it’s like magic. I placed it in the stovetop & quickly realized that I already have this size & reluctantly returned it only because I have a small kitchen. I was really frustrated that it arrived in such a mess but shocked at how easily Le Creuset can be polished back to its original new condition. I’ll never buy anything that isn’t Le Creuset again. My kids will inherit them one day so it’s such a good investment.

I have wanted this Le Creuset pumpkin cocotte since the first time I saw it. I know it is quite an investment, and to be honest, I was hesitant to spend so much on another Le Creuset piece. Also, after reading some unfavorable reviews here I almost cancelled mine. I am so glad that I didn’t ! It arrived today in perfect condition and looks even better than the photos. The white enamel along with golden “stem” is so lovely and the cocotte goes perfectly with my other pieces. I don’t know how a pumpkin can be so perfect and have an almost refined elegance but I think this actually does. It will make the most humble dish served in it seem special.

Yes, it's wickedly expensive. I thought about it long and hard as we don't have a deep wallet. But OMG, no regrets - it's gorgeous in sea salt! Arrived today, thankfully in perfect condition, so haven't cooked in it, but it's LC and I'm sure it will perform just as nicely as our larger Dutch ovens. Thanks to Amazon's payment plan over 12 months, no interest - we can handle it. You have to buy this if beauty of presentation on your table is a must. It will be an heirloom - just wish I had girls to hand it down to, but not giving up on my son to enjoy the art of fine cooking just yet!

First, I want to say that the product itself is absolutely beautiful. I think the overall issues I’ve experienced are more-so to do with quality control on Le Creuset’s end. Twice I received a dutch oven that had several flaws including a noticeable mark on the stem, an indention in the enamel, and finally discoloration on the le creuset logo on the lid. While I would love to keep it, I can’t justify keeping an almost $400 pot that comes with flaws.

This item is beautiful and functions well. The only problem is that it took me three times of ordering and returning this item to get the Dutch oven that had no flaws, marks, etc.

The 1st pumpkin had critical damage...large chips, scratches & a crack. Was listed as "new".Update 6/19/24: returned and reordered, and updated review to 3 stars from 1 star. Second white pumpkin arrived in great condition, and no scratches on the lid at all, as scratching appears to be a common Le Creuset issue I've had to deal with in this design from lid sometimes scraping on the pumpkin's base in transit. This is my 4th pumpkin in my LC collection -- white, meringue, sea salt and artichaut.The lines are beautiful as a display piece , and yet fully functional. The stem is riveted on the lid. Cast iron holds heat efficiently well.. Cleans up easily with a soap and water. There is a bit of sesame showing under the LC name on the lid but it's normal on many LC pieces with lighter colors.
