Excellent Fiber Transceivers for your Ethernet
Excellent Transceivers for Fiber. I like these a lot. They seem to be reliable and no software/firmware setups required. True Plug and Play! Seems to work quite fast with no issues

Worked right out of the box
I had 125' LC to LC fiber laying around that I wanted to put between my cable modem and router.I purchased two of the 1.25Gb/s SFP Module to 10/100/1000Base-Tx, with a 1.25G 850nm 550M SFP media converters and plugged one in on each side and connected the fiber. I removed my 50' ethernet cable and plugged a 3' one directly between the cable modem and media converter. I did the exact same thing on the other side and everything came up immediately. Lost a total of 5 pings, and my routers IP address did not change. (the cable modem has no idea these are in-between).As far as a performance test goes, my average ping time to my cable modems default gateway may have went up by about .25ms average over 100 packets, but that could just be the neighborhood I am in.I am more than pleased with this simple solution to protecting my network from a lighning strike on the cable lines around my house. Also - I purchased a 3rd one as well as a 10Gtek for Cisco GLC-SX-MMD/GLC-SX-MM/SFP-GE-S, Gigabit SFP SX Transceiver to plug directly into my network switch. I just trenched a 6-10" trench to my shed and will be placing the media converter in there along with an access point which is about 80' from the house plus about 35' of internal cable. I have already tested the 3rd one along with the SFP module in my switch and they connected right up. As long as I dont have any issues running the fiber, this is another great use for these to protect my internal network from both near lighning strikes as well as static differential between the buildings. While I cant take advantage of POE (Power Over Ethernet) to power the aceess point, I think the isolation definatly outweighs the benefits of POE.So far I have less than 30 minutes with these in use (2018-10-21). If you dont see an update from me, they are still working.

Works with Nokia G-010S-P GPON
If you're looking to bypass your (GPON only) AT&T fiber, this will help a great deal. I was able to connect a Nokia G-010S-P GPON SFP ONT into this, change my networking settings and directly connect to it via SSH at 192.168.1.10 in order to flash firmware and write the values necessary to bypass the BGW router that AT&T gives you. Without something like this, you have to take your entire network down (and connect the fiber jack into it) in order to get the SFP to boot up it's ethernet in order to SSH into it. With this, you can just connect the empty SFP into the media converter and get to work. Was up and running in about 30min after that!

Great price and fast delivery.
Greats a s it should to prove bandwith isn't correct.

It works.
It does what it promises. I got about 930 Mbps through it, which is what I get over plain 1000BASE-T. I'm a big fan of the metal case. However, the price isn't the best. You can get one without an SFP transceiver and just buy your own transceiver off eBay. Cheap ones are plenty fast enough, and I found a 4Gbit one for less than $2 including shipping. The TP-Link alternative is about the same, metal case and all, but cheaper if you add your own transceiver.

Using for Lightning Protection
I am using two of the media converters connected together with a short one meter fiber optic patch cable to provide Lightning isolation Protection to my local Intranet after sustaining several destructive Lightning events that came in over my under ground telephone/ DSL cable. The system is working well and I see no speed reduction. The 10Gtek converters are well made and impressive in their small size, zero configuration, and low cost. What more could I ask for. I would recommend them.Ken. KB6KKW

The product worked and does respond to wifi routers . However if you have a fiber optic internet connected router you, it might not work. You might need to consult your ISP on how to properly use these adapter and how this can be compatable/used with their system

Not the quality they were
I have purchased 4 of these in the past, along with multiple 10 packs of their SFP+ Fiber connectors. Initially, the quality was great, and they worked like a charm. The last batch I ordered came with a more generic looking label on the SFP and Ethernet, fiber modules. The first two did not work at all, I swapped in my own Ethernet Modules and the unit would work, however, the Ethernet release mechanism on one unit didn't work (ended up breaking one of my own Ethernet SFP module levers. As a result I asked for a replacement return. I got the next two units, and while they do work, the Ethernet modules do not want to release like the first ones. If I was guessing, I would say they either cheaped on this, or switched manufacturers, sadly. I really was tickled with the product up to this point. I attempted to contact the company and got no response. So, I suppose it's time to shop for better quality product.
