Eco Survivor 37807 Night Light

I place these in areas needing light in dark areas. Automatic on when room light dims. I also place them in rooms that would need light in an emergency power outage. They are disposable battery driven and can be turned off until needed. Light intensity has two settings. Sturdy construction.

Great emergency light. Works like a nightlight, you can choose high or low illumination. If power goes out the non-rechargeable batteries take over. You are never in the dark. Great buy.

I was looking for an emergency light with replaceable batteries. This looked so promising, but it is a disappointment. Despite the description on this page, the products does not have a motion sensor, which is essential for this to be truly useful.Pros:• The prongs are placed intelligently and this product really does leave the other outlet fully available.• The light sensor is adjusted well: the night light will shut off when there's a reasonable amount of light in the room--it doesn't have to be bright, as I've experienced with many "automatic" night lights.Cons:• The real deal killer for me is that there is no motion sensor, even though it's in the product description. If you want this to operate as an emergency light, you have to leave the switch on either "low" or "high", not "off". Then the light comes on when it's dark, period. The night light is too bright for us, so we'd want it to come on only when someone is present. Not possible without the motion sensor or a means of shutting off the night light without affecting the emergency light.• The description here is clear that this won't charge the replaceable batteries if you put rechargable ones in there. This feature would be desirable.I'm returning this and will keep looking for that emergency light with replaceable batteries.

These things are great. They have saved me multiple times in my basement when the power went out. Wish you could turn the night-light "feature" off, but it's only a minor annoyance.

The night light side of things works quite well. Same with the flashlight part.For the first week there was a really odd smell from it. Gave me a headache. I have it in the bathroom and the door is not completely closed, but mostly closed - four legged friend freaks out if the door is completely closed.There is still a smell coming from it, if you get really close to it. I've had it for a few months.I bought it as backup during a blackout. I have another night light and it was insufficient that last time I lost power. I moved that one to another location and put this new one into it's spot. For that it's fine, but there is this metallic(?) smell/odor.

I live near the Chesapeake Bay. We have power outages. After I purchased this product, I was so impressed I bought some for all my friends. I put them in bathrooms and at the bottom and top of stairs.
