Fabulous re-master of an old favourite
I know this album like the back of my hand, yet this re-master was like hearing it again for the first time. So much detail, nuance and joyous music, I listened to it 8 times in a single weekend. The Beatles at their best!

Got to tell you!
Having had all the Beatles albums on cd from Help forward, I always struggled with the stereo mix until The White album and Abbey Road. The Giles Martin reinvention began with Love, a superb soundtrack for the Las Vegas Circus troup. Then Sgt Peppers, and now Revolver. They both offer a new dimension to the fab fours music and George Martins playing and arranging ability. Rubber Soul is the same and and a favourite of mine as I learned to play guitar and perform some of the songs around the place.

Why am I even reviewing this?
Nothing I can add. If you've just landed from Alpha Centuri, welcome to Earth but you've probably already heard of the Beatles. Possibly that's why you made the trip.. Enjoy

A classic revisited...
What's new to say about a classic album? Apart from the remixing...None of the recent Beatles remixes have had the impact of Sgt Pepper, for me, that was amazing. Still, it's strange to hear instrumentation I haven't heard before but very interesting also. I'm so accustomed to the original stereo mix that it'll take time to fully appreciate this one. Still a 5 out of 5 though, obviously.

thicker
Listened 5-6 times in short order and finally got used to the lower end, well, being there. Those sixties recordings are always a bit a thin down there. Cardboardish by current standards. The first listen took me aback to the point where I thought they ruined it. Not So. After decades and thousands of times hearing the songs as originally released it just took some adjustment. I read of the doctrine they held and process they used to enhance the original 4 track stuff that was first laid down over half a century ago. They took great care and really just took things apart, polished them, and reassembled them. The sounds are brighter, clearer, more complete. But not really different. Hard to explain. This isn't colorizing Film Noir. It's a classic unique car in mint condition for its day. Then using new technology to clean and refit all the original parts, and buff the original pristine finish to a new full luster. I think it worked.
