Absolutely terrific WiFi antenna. Increased the WiFi speed of my Laptop by 4x (100Mb/s to 400Mb/s)
Absolutely terrific. My router is at the other end of the house. This increased the speed by 4x (from 100Mb/s to 400Mb/s). Worth every penny. I plan on buying another one. Make sure you read the directions regarding installing the driver. The driver installer is embedded in the antenna. No need to go to the Manufacturers website. When you power up your PC, the antenna goes through the process of connecting via USB. You will hears some beeps while this process executes. This is normal for many USB devices. After powering up the PC, expect the antenna to take 60-90 seconds to come on line. Very, very happy with this purchase! Highly recommended!

Works well at a good price. Solved a range problem.
Bought this when we moved the router and the connection to my computer in the basement degraded. Easy to install, inexpensive, and solved to problem qickly.

A bad choice that gets worse with time
This adapter is a poor choice because of the chipset used and some hardware design choices.Problem 1: DriversBecause of the poor choice of chipset, a manual installation of driver software is necessary. The device is supposed to present as a USB drive with Windows drivers, however it appears once the device mode-switches to Wi-Fi mode, it will never present the USB drive again on any device, even a brand new one. This means that if you move this device to another computer, you will need to find and download the driver... from the internet, which means you need a separate device with an internet connection to download the driver.Additionally, Linux driver support is very poor. In a previous version of this product page, they claimed Linux compatibility, however this "feature" has been stealthily removed. It is possible to configure this device on Linux, however you must manually compile the driver, which is a difficult and painstaking process which, again, likely will require an internet connection.Problem 2: Working LifetimeThis device lasted 3 months before it completely stopped functioning. After about 1 month, it would randomly stop functioning for ~20 second intervals every few minutes. This behavior is driver, system, and configuration independent - it occurs on any device, regardless of operating system or driver used. The module itself becomes unresponsive, identifiable by a loss of internet connectivity and either an unlit status LED or glitchy blinking at irregular intervals. Most times, the device recovers after ~20 seconds, however in some cases the device will simply cease to function until it is unplugged and reconnected. If $10/month + frustration is your Wi-Fi adapter budget, this might be the module for you. If you're looking for a frustration-free 802.11ax/Wi-Fi 6 adapter, shop elsewhere.

Started good.
I've had this adapter for a few months now. To start with, it was great. Great reception and speeds. Everything worked as you would expect. Then it began connecting and disconnecting frequently. Now it seems to be connected to the computer, showing up under network adapters, but the light on the device does not illuminate and no networks show up when it is chosen.Uninstalled the device through the network manager and now it works after plugging it back in.

Super easy setup-great signal reach and fast throughput
I had a 10-year-old laptop that I was trying to salvage to use with a midi controller. The Wi-Fi card on the motherboard was burned out, and I didn’t feel like running an ethernet connection all the way to my music room. I took it out of the package, plugged it in and it started working. Even the 10-year-old laptop running windows eight recognized it instantly and downloaded the driver software that’s preinstalled on a chip in the antenna and it set itself up. It works perfectly. Can’t ask for better than that especially for the price. The signal is extremely strong and I’ve tested it as far away as a couple hundred feet through multiple walls and it stays connected.

Absolutely works! A great addition!
This is my second purchase of this BrosTrend WiFi antenna. I record two longform video programs every week and upload them to dedicated servers. The addition of this antenna reduced my upload time dramatically. There is no installation; just plug it in and it works. If there is any "minus" with this antenna, it's only that the base is not heavy enough for it to sit freestanding. I used two-sided tape to mount it on a bookshelf next to my desk. My previous wifi antenna was ok; this one runs rings around it, as the attached screenshots show.
