Preferred Spark Plug for Ford 4.0 engine
This plug replaces the old model SP412 (exact same construction and specs.) and is what you want to use on the Ford 4.0L engine due to the waste spark system on it. They are nickel plugs but they work the best on this motor and need to be replaced every 30-50k miles due to the electrode tip wear. You can reset the gap and put them back in if you want since the gap is worn to at least 0.080 in. at around 50k miles, but for the price and the amount of effort to remove them it's better to just put new in. I know that there's all kinds of fancy plugs out there that manufacturers say work but the vast majority of them create a misfire/hesitation on this motor so stick with the SP412X and avoid the headaches.
