Seller doesn't respond to queries
The crutches seem okay so far, nice and lightweight, though they're a bit clunky; you have to take a piece off and flip it over and re-insert it in a tube and click it into place before you can use them. When you're done, you have to do that in reverse, which requires mashing a little button down HARD so it goes inside the metal tube, while holding something else down that's hard to hold down. Will tear up your thumb. However, folding crutches are a great service and I'm grateful they exist! I'm taking the time to write because I emailed the seller to ask if there was a carrying bag available for these crutches. Folding crutches = travel = something to carry them in, especially as the upper part pops open after folding; it has those elastic bands like a folding cane (why couldn't the bottom part have that as well?). The seller's bot asked me to please give them a chance to answer any questions before posting a review. I didn't get an answer so I wrote again a week later, and got the same bot-plea to give them a chance....etc., clearly Carex isn't reading the mail. So, if you buy these, you'll need a lightweight bag like those umbrella beach chairs come in, with a shoulder strap. I'm estimating they need about two feet in length and about the same in circumference. Also, they could use a long velcro strap to go around them so the top part doesn't pop open and bang you in the nose when you handle them.

Even if they unfolded easy I wouldn't want to have to open and close ...
I didn't purchase the crutches from Amazon. I bought them last week from a Walmart for less than half this price. Maybe because they've been on the market for some time. Well, I read Pilgrim's review and Pilgrim is correct about how folding and unfolding the crutch as well as it pops right open when its folded. This is why I rate it at 4 stars. Now, I must say that I, and most people, probably aren't concerned with folding them when they aren't using them in the home (sitting or lying down). Rather when traveling by car or plane. Even if they unfolded easy I wouldn't want to have to open and close them unless necessary. I bought them for a car trip to and from surgery and in case I'm still on them when I go away (fly) on a business trip. For safety reasons they should have added a locking mechanism on them when folded. And I believe Pilgrim may be correct about the company not reading their mail.
