Here Is What Action / Adventure Films Are Supposed To Be
I give Sylvester Stallone a lot of credit for creating his own film series, as well as hiring older male actors who Hollywood has literally forgotten they exist and can still act. No, no one in this ensemble cast will ever be nominated for an Oscar award for these films. However, most actors would prefer to be able to pay their bills and live their lives rather than polishing a 22-carat gold statue. That being said, the 3 movies are filmed around the world, which adds even more intrigue to the storylines. If there is one negative element to these films, it is the sheer volume of bullets dislodged throughout the movies. On repeated viewings, I found myself turning my head away from the television screen, because the constant onslaught of gunfire wore me out. I can grasp the on-screen violence required to tell these types of stories. My oldest nephew is a U.S. Marine sharpshooter, so I am not ignorant to reality. Guess I have just found my saturation point of on-screen violence. I am quite sure there are others whose threshold is much higher than mine. Otherwise, the action is good, and adventures never cease to amaze. For those who enjoy this genre, you will not be disappointed in adding this 3-DVD collection to your home library.

Watching Expendables was Inexpensive.
All three came as described. Cheaper buying all three than stopping by Blockbuster and renting.
