I read about those who gave 1 or 2 star reviews about the difficulties they had installing etc... I had NONE of those problems. It was easy to install. Just take your time and be careful. It functions as it should and the quality is fine, especially for the price. Is it made as well as they were 30 years ago? I would ask you, is anything now a days made as good as it was 30 or 40 years ago? Of course not, but it is made well enough and it does the job I need. And it will work for you too!

I liked the robust and easy to use connections and the temperature rating. Read the directions on the connections or the easy to use feature goes out the window. Tip—dont install the bottom of the receptacle too close to an obstruction. Its hard to get the bottom cover screws in. I ended up having to move it a couple of inches. I suspect all similar receptacles work the same way, so I don’t fault this one

Awesome for EV charging. Easy to install with 8 AWG Romex 8/3 cable. What I love: Brass contact, large blade -> great for conductivity Nice grip of the blade; screws are easily torqued to specifications -> secure connection As long as the receptacle satisfies those 2 conditions for conductive transmission, I'm comfortable with heavy-duty prolonged EV charging. Plus: all-in-one package: receptacle + box + cable connector. That is a huge saving compared to buying 3 separate items. What I dislike: nothing so far yet. I bought it to install a dedicated outlet for EV charging. Installation: Romex 8/3 is+ 40 amp breaker for a 32A max level 2 charger. This is quite safe with lots of room for expansion, given that 8 AWG wires and the terminations at both ends are all rated at 75°C, allowing a max ampacity of 50 amps. According to code, only 80% (40 A) should be used for safety reasons. Yet, I set up for only 80% of that 80%. EV charging testing: Ambient temperature: 27°C 32 A charging @ 240V After 0.5 hr of charging → temp 34°C (internal temp sensor of the charger on the display) After 2hr → temp 45°C After 5hr charging → Temp still stabilizes at 46-47°C For your reference: charger will auto reduce the current if temp reaches 85°C and shut down at 90°C. However, I would consider it normal if the temp while charging after 2 hours is less than 60°C. No heat out of Romex wires. Receptacle and plug: slightly warm The blades of the plug are warmer, but still comfortably to touch
