Reading some of these reviews it is clear that people are trying to do the wrong thing with these. These are to make your nails shine, not to files them down. They do a great job at polishing your nails. I tried to show in the pictures how great these work. One of the pictures is of an unpolished nail and the other is polished. I normally don’t use the polish side since I am a man and don’t really want shiny nails, just well groomed nails. But I did want buyers to understand what these do. The surface on all four sides feels almost the same, but it is not the same, they are very different. This takes about a minute and a half per nail to polish. The results look fantastic. These are also great to clean up the ridges and ugly spots on toe nails for wearing flip flops so you don’t look like a troll walking around.

I buy these all the time to help me keep up with my nails. The different surfaces help with whatever my nails need... ridge removal, buffing, shining, etc. My only complaint is that they don't seem to last very long. Not a huge problem because you get so many in the bag and they are reasonably priced. A good buy.

So easy to take care of nail health with these and they make a great office fidget too. Being able to smooth out my nails has helped me have longer and healthier nails

I am glad I bought this multipack. Each nail buffer seems to only work for a few uses. You can see the wear easily. Overall, the instructions are easy to follow for pretty shiny buffed nails. The buffer works and is worth a purchase. Just keep in mind, you will not get many uses out of each buffer in the pack.

Great deal for the money. I discovered these many years ago at the mall. The lady was always like let me buff your nails, finally I said ok and I was amazed and bought one on the spot. These are not those and these will get you through but they are only good for a couple of uses each but still a great value and I get compliments on how shiny me nails are all the time.

This is a totally ineffective product. Side 1, which is the side for filing, has no effect whatsoever. I rubbed it against my face, it is so NOT a file. The other 3 sides are just as lame. The remove ridge side, if you press it almost as hard as you can, will start doing its job, but it is unable to pay off at the finish, leaving my nail slightly scratched on the surface, but unable to remove ridges. The buff side does, well, nothing. What a disappointment, they are going right back. Don’t polish and shine side will, with considerable pressure once again, will make the ridges left behind by side #3 shiny and noticeable. I am sending them back. Don’t waste your money.

I don't understand all the negative reviews, but perhaps my specific use for these is a unique situation. I'm a classical guitarist, and so I need to smooth my right-hand fingernails to a glassy texture for tone. These files are not meant for coarse shaping, but rather for fine buffing. I can tell you that there is definitely a difference between the 4 surfaces. For my purpose, these are perfect, and a great deal for the quantity.
