Signstek UT210E Handheld RMS AC/DC Mini Digital Clamp Meter Resistance Capacitance Tester

This device is very useful in amateur radio, vehicle power, and solar power. It measures AC amp flow AND it measures DC amp flow! There are very few ammeter products for DC current that are styled like an AC ammeter, so for checking power drains on a car battery system or power consumption by amateur radio equipment or power production of your solar array and input power to the battery or discharge from the battery, this device can do it. It will measure up to 100 amps of power flow, whether AC or DC.

I primarily bought this because of its claim of being a sensitive DC amp meter. I suspect many purchasers do the same---as DC amp meters are typically much more expensive--or if reasonably priced--basically don't work well. This meter is sensitive and accurate and does not require a bunch of "alignment gymnastics" to get a reading. I used it the day I got it to track a 1 amp parasitic drain on a c2500 diesel truck--worked beautifully and saved me time an the trouble of buying either a new battery or alternator. I can't be happier or recommend enough..also--shipping was quick and on time--which is refreshing during the holiday season.

One warning, all the included documents are in Chinese only including the packaging. The unit itself markings are in English.For accurate DC low current clamp on measurements, < 100 mA, it has to be zeroed often but that is pretty much expected for such a low cost unit. Low current clamp on AC measurements don't require zeroing.Seems to be made well made. Everything fits in the included soft case easily which is nice. So far I'm pleased with the purchase.

I got 3 years out of my prior meter before some bit of electronic wizardry got tired and died.An essential tool in my bag, it allows me to instantly - and without worrying about where I might contact a hot lead - determine the power usage on a DC circuit. It also, of course, will do AC but as I work on 12VDC systems, that's of lesser importance to me.It's a fully featured multi-meter, as well. A simple thumbwheel makes your selection of function and it otherwise acts like most muilti-meters do.It also comes with leads which have probe sleeves which allow you to either use the point only or the entire length of the lead, a feature I value.I'd buy it again (well, as you see, I did!) :)

Can be held in a palm, I measure tension and current at thge output of a variable frecuency drive (VFD) or AC motor inverter with no problem and get very rediable values. Almost I measure a 4-20mA loop industrial, the meter scale is not enough to calibrate sensors but it's enough to diagnose work status or broken lines without cut wires.

This is small meter that is worth the money. Needed it to work on some DC electrical issues. Worked great for that application. I have also been using it for AC work. I have several Fluke meters and like the portability and price of this meter better. Fits in my tool bag with space left over.

Good quality. Very durable.This is a update to my previous review. I used this item mostly to check ac/dc voltages and amp draw. Finally tried the NCV feature while doing a home project and found that it does not work.
