For less than 50 cents a mini, I’m so glad to have added this set to my collection. Compared to some of the other Arcknight mini sets, I think these will be used less often than some of the more generic NPCs in other sets. But, when this set gets used, it’s always going to be EPIC. The amazing artwork will only make those special encounters more memorable and I can’t wait to unleash some of these monstrosities on my party ;) As always, it was easy enough to snap the minis out of the die cut plastic sheets and slot them into the included plastic bases. I think this is definitely an amazing product and if you’re on the fence, I say go for it, you will not be disappointed.

If you are concerned about how thin they are I can assure you they are more durable than I expected. Popping them out is very easy. No cutting needed. The art is great and uniform! Arcknight is the only company on the market doing the backside of their minis. The other companies just have the front of the character on both sides. With how many of these flat plastic minis themed packs there are it’s a win win. Very easy to store!!! I am 100% coming back for the DM Starter kit and more! These are just brilliant.

Kinda flimsy but easy to set up

I’d like to start my review off by saying that I’m not aware of ANY other type of tokens you can buy that will give you this much value for your money. I purchased this set, along with the other core sets of flat plastic minis and I could probably get away with never buying another mini again. The best part of this set lies in the color and detail. I could pay anywhere from 3-20 dollars for a figurine, spend more money and time painting it, and end up with something that’s not even half the level of detail you see with these minis. My only minor gripe is that for some of the minis, the color is a little indistinct on the face (enough that I had to flip it a few times to figure out which side was the front). These minis also have unique front and back art, allowing you to show facing. The minis are made of clear plastic that is slightly flexible, allowing them to be inserted into the included bases in order to be used. They come in pre-punched sheets, so it was simple to pop each mini out. Unfortunately a few of the minis were slightly cut off (I’ve included pics of the worst offenders), but not enough so that I would try to return them. Just be aware if that is something you are a stickler for. As a side note, as a woman who loves tabletop games I was delighted to see multiple female characters wearing sensible clothing (but there were some sexy designs too if that’s more your thing). IMO there’s nothing more frustrating than planning to roleplay a badass female barbarian, but the closest mini you can find is one that is wearing skulls as a brassiere (true story!). If you’re thinking about buying a set of these, I say go for it! At less than 50 cents a mini you can’t lose.

Pros: -The art is great. Front and back of each piece is illustrated. -Diverse set of pieces, many different kinds of monsters, npcs/pcs. -The plastic is pretty solid, difficult to bend/damage. -Assembly is easy. Pieces can be easily switched in and out of bases. -They take up little room to store. Cons: -Dragons, giants, and similarly sized creatures are a bit small, would have liked those pieces to be larger. -No explicitly POC npc/pc pieces. -Again, really happy with the selection of monsters in this pack, but there's no mimic piece (unless it is REALLY well disguised). Overall, a great set. Worth the price. I use card sleeves to keep them separate/organized.
