Worth the price, this bit cuts super clean. I've been using the bit for hand template routing, and it is the best cuter I've used by miles. I saw some reviews that said using the bit in a hand router was a bad idea, but that's been the opposite of my experience. You will want a router motor with a speed control, because the bit is considerably wider than most. number "3" on my Bosch router gave the best results

This is a monster of a bit in a hand held router. Great cutter, but will get away from you if you don't have a firm grip.

I tried multiple cheap pattern and flush trim bits to cut some ipe that I am using for a dining table project. Ipe is extremely hard and every other bit, jigsaw blade, and hand saw I used failed miserably. This bit cut through that ipe like butter. Left an amazing surface and worked equally well from the first cut to the last. I never thought I would spend this kind of money on a router bit, but my god I’m glad I did. It literally saved my project.I used this bit in my Bosch router mounted to a router table and felt that I was in full control at all times. If you are wondering if you need it and you have the means, buy it.

machined an internal and external cuts for the top of a wine barrel out of 1.25" white oak stock. removed most excess up 3/16" 2 depth cuts and it very smoothly no tear out with decent feed speed rate with a 1.75hprouter.Would recommend and buy again

This bit is insanely good. I used it with some guitar templates and the finish was flawless.

After 30 seconds of use it became quickly apparent that this bit is totally unsafe when used in a handheld router. It would be fine in a CNC driven router but it is too aggressive to be controlled in a handheld router. It jerks and grabs uncontrollably. After ruining a project that I had several hours invested in I tried to salvage it by switching to an Amana bit but was unable to do so. I am not new to pattern routing having done several hundred projects over the years with no problems of this nature. Be very careful if you are intending to use this bit in a handheld router. Whiteside is usually a completely reliable source for router bits and I own many of their bits. This one is not one of their better efforts.

Using the but for template work ... there does seem to be a mismill in the bit ... it leaves a very faint line in the center of the material being routed...I plan to keep playing with it , to make sure there’s nothing that I could be doing wrong .It does cut very smooth !
