Good tool
Works great. Makes installing Pex A tubing very quick vs using a manual expansion tool.

Saved me tons of money.
Got quoted $8000 to repipe my house so I took matters into my own hands. Repiped the whole house with pex-a for around $2000, including this expensive tool. The tool, like most things from Dewalt, is solid. If you’re already in the 20v line and need a pex expander, you can’t go wrong with this.

Works as expected
Works as expected PROS: Came with carry case, battery charger, 2 spare batteries and the 1/2", 3/4", 1" attachments. CONS: If you are not a plumber, you really don't use this often. Its a bit expensive for single use but not available to rent anywhere. Overall, if you plan to use it frequently then its a good purchase. but I can't image anyone except a plumber using it frequently.

Game Changer, Just a Fantastic Tool
I actually enjoy plumbing with this. Cheaper than the Milwaukee, works pretty much the same. And for anyone not familiar, three really big advantages to Expansion PEX (aka Wirsbo, PEX-A, Pro-PEX, etc.): 1) Unlike crimp/clamp PEX where the fittings are smaller inside diameter (ID) than the tubing, the fittings are the same size ID as the tubing, so no reduced flow rate. To give an idea, for 1/2" PEX, the reduction between crimp/clamp and expansion PEX is 30-50%, for 3/4" it's closer to 20-30%. So pretty significant. 2) This tool fits in tighter spots than the handles on crimp/clamp tools. Not a big deal....until it's a REALLY big deal in tight quarters. 3) Easier on your hands/forearms if you're doing it all day Bonus) The built in light comes in really handy when when you're working in less than optimal lighting situations. Total game changer for me, highly recommend.

So easy.
PEX-A is so easy to DIY to replace existing plumbing. I haven’t had a single connection even think about leaking. Ensure you cut the pipe flush put the ring on all the way and then hold it still as this tool auto-rotates. It’s a bit heavy, but feels very well built. Clips onto my belt like other utility tools. Came with 2 batteries and they seem to last a long time. The chargers are the new style though and not as mountable as the old ones. Feels like it is very consistent until the battery starts getting low - but it doesn’t consume much power. 100+ connections for the first full charge. If you have more than a few connections to do, get this tool, it’ll be a life saver.

Power expanders are the way to go...
Just re-routed the inslab water main + additional branch, alot of work - but not a single leak on the PEX-A in part to this tool. I can't imagine trying to us the manual expander in the tight, low and high spots. Save your effort and sanity and buy a power expander. One word of caution, the 1" contracts very fast in a warm garage. I didn't have time to put the tool down a pick up a fitting before it was too late. So for 1" Pex, learn to use the tool one handed, and have the fitting in the other hand - or get a helper. And make sure tool cone is greased per instructions.
