WHY did I wait so long to get this updated SHARP ripper?
Yes, the handle on this seam ripper is super comfortable, even for an arthritic thumb joint, to use. Yes, it is easy to use because it is so sharp and the tip is tiny, slipping under stitches easily. Right off using it I marveled that I had stubbornly stuck to a "perfectly fine ripper from the 80s," When there is this wonderful seam ripper to use. I am not joking, the difference between the old model and this light weight, ergonomic handled, sharp ripper for picking out stitches is so incredible, I am thinking of buying another one to keep with my travel kit. Don't be like me. Don't be stubborn about keeping old tools. Be open to improving your work with new tools that are sharp, lightweight, easy to hold, and help you enjoy your projects.

Highly recommended (so I've heard)
I did some research into the best seam ripper out there, and this is pretty widely considered to be it. I gave it as a gift to my girlfriend who has recently expanded her sewing setup, and it was a big hit. This one is extremely sharp and gives clean cuts consistently and easily. It's also pretty affordable! With this seam ripper alone, she completely broke down every seam on probably 20 shirts to make a quilt, and there are no signs of dullness whatsoever. Like everybody else said, there's no sheath that comes with it, so you need to be careful with it since it's really sharp. No issues so far, but an accidental poke from this would not be fun.

Best Seam Ripper EVER
This isn't some tiny lil seem ripper from a sewing kit. I first chose it for the price, but it is much more than a good value. I mostly use recycled materials, like denim. I have broken more than one in a pair of jeans. Durable, comfortable to use, designed for function and ease. This is the right tool for the job!

Not your grandma's seam ripper (and that's good!)
My previous seam ripper was a blue plastic Singer seam ripper that was my grandma's. When it broke, I was very sad and doubted anything would replace it. Well, the first stitch I removed with this made me realize I should have bought a new seam ripper decades ago. It glides easily under stitches and cuts the thread effortlessly. I do wish it had a plastic cover or lid, which is the reason it gets four stars instead of five.

Buy quality
Without a doubt this is the most durable, SHARP and quality seam ripper I have ever owned in the 55 years I e been sewing clothes and quilting. I bought my friend one for Christmas last year and she loves this seam ripper. What a wonderful stocking stuffer to give!

DREAM RIPPER!!!
I was totally prepared to be unimpressed with this seam ripper, but man-oh-man was I wrong! After reading the flowing reviews, I couldn't resist to try it, but was very skeptical as to why it was so special....it's just another seam ripper, right? NO! This little beauty is super fine and can remove the smallest of stitches. It is so far superior to a Dritz or other "cheap" brand that I've used my whole entire sewing life that I can't even tell you. I plan to buy 3 more as I tend to do "ripping" in different places....on the couch watching TV, in front of the sewing machine, etc. I've recently gotten into home dec projects and bags, and I've been using non-traditional patterns with "unusual" instructions so sometimes I slip up and make mistakes (certainly more than I used to making garments in past years, or even making garments now for that matter), as everyone does. This seam ripper makes the unpleasant task we all have to sometimes do, not so bad. And because it is so efficient, it makes the job quicker! I LOVE IT! If I could give it 10 stars I would do it. Buy this seam ripper, you will NOT be disappointed. Teri B Sewist

a great product, very sharp and a fine cutter
After using a non-descript seam cutter for years, I finally ordered a Clover 520, which is excellent. In fact, it was so good that I wanted another one, and just to have a comparison, I ordered this one. For a few cents more that the 520 costs, I much prefer this one, although you really won't go wrong with either one. Both have a fine point, a sharp cutter, and are fast and easy to use. The handle on this one is the main difference: it is stubby and more comfortable to hold, so if you have a long seam to rip or many buttons to remove, this one is better. The handle is about a half-inch shorter on this model as compared to the 520, and the blade is a tiny bit shorter too. Neither of those features make any difference that I can see in the way they work. Both are excellent products. Some reviewers didn't like the vinyl sleeve that comes with these cutters. Personally, I don't use the sleeve anyway, because I make frequent use of the cutter, and it's not worth trying to put it back in a case each time. If you do want a case, I suggest making a quick one out of canvas or another heavy fabric. That would be much nicer than either vinyl or plastic, and after all, we're sewers, aren't we? It's a simple little project that takes no time at all.
