Review from a Surgical Nurse
I work 12 hour shifts in the hospital and am a busy mom at home, not to mention I am middle aged so pain is something that is often used in my vocabulary. In the past, I have tried tens units which have always been tethered to the unit by a wire and had only a few options to choose from on a device to what I can compare to an old ipod. This VPOD is not only wireless, but you run it through an app on your phone! The device was easy to set up. The QR code in the instruction manual didn’t work for me, but I was easily able to go to the APP store and download the app with no problems. Once the units were charged, I connected them to bluetooth and stuck one unit on my back and one on my husband’s back. We then each picked our preferred method of therapy and walked to opposite ends of the house to test my “BOGO” theory on this device. We were both able to enjoy the benefits with no issues. The jell on the pads are atraumatic and make the pads reusable as long as you store them on the storage sleeve provided. They were comfortable to wear at work and when I tell you they knocked out the pain, THEY KNOCKED OUT THE PAIN! I didn’t have to take any medication, the chronic pain I suffer from was simply gone for the day after using the tens unit for 30 min. Annoyingly, they did sporadically disconnect from bluetooth, but that was an easy fix.I found it very useful to be able to click on the icon in the app and not only be able to enjoy thetherapeutic benefits but also, learn about the therapy provided. By holding down on the icon, a pop up window will occur and inform the user about the benefits of the suggested therapy so they are able to choose what therapy is appropriate for them. Not only will I use the TENS to reduce pain, but also plan to use the EMS to build muscle. I struggle with runners' knees. Runners knee in when the muscles on the lateral (outside) side of your thigh develop greater than the muscles on the medial (inside) side of the thigh, thus maltracking the kneecap and pulling it laterally. I plan on using the EMS on the medial side of my thigh in hopes to strengthen my vastus medialis. This unit was a good buy and worth the money. The benefits of knocking out chronic pain far outweigh the dollar sign on this VPOD unit.

So many features to choose from for relief
I suffer from a frozen shoulder so I decided to research on what I can use at home to avoid going to a chiropractor or physical therapy. I bought this VPOD wireless TENS unit in hopes that this is the treatment I need. First of all, the packaging was on point. It has a great carrying case that has compartments that neatly keeps the accessories in place. You have to charge the unit for a couple hours for the first time use and download the free app onto your phone. While it was charging, I was able to read thru the manual and saw how many features this had.The big take away for me was that a skeletal photo was included to show you different acupuncture points that you can put the device on to treat specific ailments. There is a guide that lists all the different possible conditions and a guide to the treatment points. I was surprised to see 'Frozen shoulder' on the list and to my surprise, one of the treatment points is on my shin. You can choose the intensity level. Depending on what mode you choose (there are 24 modes), you can vary the intensity of the device. My comfort level is around power 4-6. If you long press on each mode, a window will pop up that describes the purpose of that particular mode. Don't think this is like a massage chair with the typical kneading, rolling and tapping. This little device is like a gentle (or not so gentle, depending on what power level you choose) 'vibration' to that specific area. It kind of feels like a little shock treatment. Now on to my personal experience with this device. There is a specific stretch called "Thread the needle" that I cannot do because of my 'Frozen Shoulder'. When I have this device stuck on my shoulder muscle, I can actually do the movement, as the device is in the ON position. I can lift my arm to full extension without flinching in pain. But how's my arm without the device ON? I'm glad you asked. For the first 30 minutes after using the device, my arm was more mobile, my range of motion was much further and I didn't feel any throbbing in my shoulder. After 30min, I did notice that I started to stiffen back up and my range of motion started to gradually shorten and I did started feeling the pain. It's only been a day since I started using this so I suspect that the more I use this, the more it will improve my shoulder mobility. I would consider this my 'in-home' physical therapy, which we all know, PT can take months before we see full improvement. All in all, the VPOD is relieving my pain and giving me back my shoulder mobility.
