Great
These work great. I use often for refreshing faded black clothes, or for turning other clothes black (if I don’t like the original colour, if whites have greyed, if something is stained etc). Won’t work at all on synthetics, as explained in instructions, so sometimes clothes will dye really well, except the thread which stays the original colour (often white). To overcome this, I use a fabric marker/sharpie etc to go over the stitching so it’s all black. You could also go in with a synthetic dye afterwards to target both.Tips:Ensure clothes evenly wet beforehand to avoid patchiness (best that they are washed rather than wetting in sink etc.If you have a lot of black laundry, just chuck it in afterwards so that you aren’t wasting endless water/money running an empty drum.

Results to dye for
Reading some of the more negative reviews, I thought this new approach of chucking in the dye within a container would be problematic. Not so! All in one product (no more kilos of salt to buy) & no more emptying out of the dye into the drum - nice and straightforward with less room for accidents. I've been using Dylon's range of dyes for a few years now and this latest format makes it even more simple than the previous all-in-one pouch. To improve your chances of a consistent result, follow the instructions but be aware dirt or soap residues are the enemies to the dyeing process. So I ensure the wash before dyeing is a thorough one, with no fabric conditioner. You could try using distilled white vinegar as a conditioner replacement (useful when you've run out or for towels that you need to stay absorbent), because it helps by neutralising any remaining soap. Choose the highest spin setting your machine offers to get rid of all of those residues. Then, clean out the detergent/conditioner drawer and run another rinse cycle with just water, selecting the option for 'water plus' if your machine has the function to boost the amount of water used in the rinse process. The aim is to make sure there's nothing but clean detergent free fabric.Place the Dylon pod on top of the freshly-washed well-rinsed damp fabrics and follow the remaining instructions for the experience you've been dyeing to see.4 wash cycles (cleaning, dyeing, after dye wash, machine clean-out wash) per batch of clothes is a bit energy intensive, so you might want to wait until you've got enough items to rejuvenate or for when it coincides with your scheduled machine maintenance wash and run a limescale treatment during the final clean-out wash killing two birds with one stone, to justify the 'leccy costs. But, it's better than looking scruffy or throwing out garments and your machine will most certainly be free of germs after the whole process.Several cups of tea later... results were uniform colour throughout.I chose the Navy Blue option (the product picture shot isn't that accurate in the colour shade - it appears online as a denim blue). Results were a nice and deep uniform blue to several items all done at the same time (3 pairs of partially faded navy trousers, 2 casual navy shirts that looked a little tatty and a light blue t-shirt). One dye pod was enough to refresh all the garments to look crisp and close to new again without looking artificially over coloured.I was a little apprehensive worried I'd get blotchy results claimed by other reviewers, but following the instructions which state to run on a 40 degrees cotton cycle, the results were as good as Dylon's previous generation all-in-one pouch, minus any dyed fingers. Trust me, the dye powder can get everywhere if it's mishandled, the pod just makes it all nice and simples.

Not emerald in my opinion
I’ve purchased this product to dye a white bikini which has gone grey over time, so not much fabric to dye. The colour that has come out is much lighter than emerald and someway off that shade as well. It is something I’d call Caribbean or Tiffany blue / turquoise / fluorescent blue. I like it but it’s different from what I expected and some parts are a bit darker even though I followed the instructions to the T. I appreciate synthetic fabrics don’t absorb dye the same way as natural fabrics.

Save me a fortune.
I have a Holiday lesson needed to change the sheets as they were fading. It cost a lot of money so I tried these die balls. My bedding and towels are all cotton, Egyptian cotton and Turkish cotton as I was dying a lot. I emptied the die into the drum of the washing machine to get maximum coverage. That I worked well and 10 washes later is still looking strong. My only error was when I put too much washing in the machine so one wash looks a bit blotchy, but that was my own fault not The dies

Revives tired jeans
Why did you choose this product over others?:I bought the Denim dye after a friend recommended dying old jeans to refresh them and get more wear out of them before taking to the clothes bank and buying new. What a great tip! Easy to use. Just put jeans and dye pod into the washing machine and hey presto, jeans are revived. I am now getting more wear out of them. Nice deep denim blue colour. No problems with washing machine, just ran an empty wash afterwards just in case but all fine.

Easy to use. Love how it turned out!!
Super impressed! Very simple. I had a grey sweater I bought off Vinted and didn’t really like the colour. I decided to try the deep violet knowing the grey would make it slightly dull.I love it. I LOVE IT!!! It’s made this such a cute sweater. And it was very simple to use.Just be sure you run your machine after to be sure it’s cleaned out before your next wash.

Not so good as it once was.
I bought this to dye a Fatface t shirt that was approximately this colour and had a small faded patch due to removal of a tiny oil mark. Unfortunately the final result was a little patchy. The fabric is cotton with 6% elastin. Another shirt I previously dyed with Dylon Emerald green has been washed once since dying and although it looked great on first being dyed, is now faded and patchy. I have been using Dylon dyes for at least 10 years and had good results. These recent results not so good. Has the dye changed in some way I wonder?

Slightly lighter but nice colour
Ive got some really old white vest tops that I was reluctant to throw. Decided id change the colour to revive them. The colour is a few shades lighter, but its all very even and a nice colour in itself. Easy to do if you follow the instructions properly. Was plum red
