Good old fashioned, non-PC fun.
A good old fashioned cap gun with a generally solid build. I'd say the gun is more of a deeper grey than the silver shown but looks very nice The cylinder and trigger assembly feels solid and rotates smoothly-the gun has a nice weight to it. The handle is plastic and wasn't loose on one I received. Being cheap plastic means the gun is light in the grip but my six year old son is very happy. If you had the means and abilities it would be worth while in crafting a replacement wooden grip-this would take the cap gun to another level. If you're an adult buying for fancy dress be aware the gun is quite small but if you have average size hands you will be able to hold and fire it comfortably with your little finger under the grip. I would however recommend the longer barreled version, especially if you are using full size holsters. The cap gun is around eight inches long from tip of barrel to rear of the grip. The barrel itself is four and a half inch from tip to cylinder.

Good well-made child's gun
I bought this toy gun for my 6-year old who fancies himself as a cowboy. As he’s not the gentlest of children (to put it mildly), this toy gun was a good choice as the body is well made from metal and has a nice weight behind it, so seems sturdy enough to take what he can throw at it. Or where he can throw it. It also has a plastic handle that again seems well made. The gun itself isn’t 1:1 scale, making it better suited for children. Well, it is a toy gun after all. So, if you want it for your fancy dress outfit and insist on 100% authenticity it’s not for you. In saying that I got a kick out of firing it, but then I am a big kid. It’s easy enough to load with a ring of caps as it has a little catch on the side that releases the chamber. Which my son quickly realised he could load then close with a flick of his wrist for added effect. In fact, he enjoys doing this almost as much as firing the caps.It is a little awkward to get the caps out as you need to get your fingernail under the cap ring at one point where there is a notch cut out from the chamber. I remember as a kid having a toy gun where the cap holder could be pushed out to release them. But, this isn’t a major problem as he seems better at doing it than me with my big adult digits. And to be honest, one less moving part means one less bit to break! So, to sum up – well made, looks good, gets 10/10 by my 6-year old.

GREAT wee gun (if you get a good one)
This wee gun arrived well package the day after ordering via Prime. On intial inspection the gun appeared to be of fair quality but it all worked. It felt reasonably substantial with a fair weight to it in my 8 year old sons hand and he said it was brilliant and just what he wanted. However after only an hour of firing it in the house on the day of receipt the handle grips became loose and the gun barrell would only rotate automatically 5 times (should rotate 7 times). The trigger then became impossible to pull until you physically rotated the barrell manually to line it up with the next cap. It seemed to only do a half rotation rather than the full one needed to pull the trigger and fire. I managed to tighten the grips using a small amount of Loctite (thread lock) to keep them secured. The barrell is not fixable though as the mechanism has no adjustment....in fact you cant even get to it.Anyway, its an okay wee gun for the few pounds it cost and we may have just received a faulty one so my review must reflect that. If you get one that works perfectly then you have spent wisely buying this wee cap gun as any wee lad (or lass) would have hours of fun with it. I guess this time we were unlucky but for only £6 I am not going to make a fuss about it.

Noise annoys
It's a gun that looks real..Well not that real, just a bit real, just enough so you get the point..Now although it looks a bit real, it doesn't actually fire bullets or kill/shoot stuff.Because instead, if you pull the trigger it goes BANG! - provided you've loaded it with caps first...Gadzooks, there goes the neighbourhood!!So I bought this for my friend's 5yr old son for Christmas, so that I can train him up ready to be a bank robber or gangster rapper or something, for when he grows up. Hopefully he will excel in either of these professions and when he does, give me some of his spare loot or gold chains or whatever?!.... And then I can buy that sports car I've always dreamed of and be the talk of the town.Anyway, so back to the gun itself..I have to say I was very impressed by this product at first. It appeared well made and was a good size for a child (it's too small really for a man's hand), albeit he did struggle pulling the trigger at first.Eventually though he got the knack and soon was running round the house popping caps left, right and centre, and irritating his parents as nature intended.However.. .. I was showing off and wowing him with some quality gunslinger tricks (quick draws, spinning on the finger etc), when I dropped it and the handle (which was plastic, not metal like the rest of the gun) snapped in half!! Which almost led to tears - mine not his, as he handled (pun intended!) the accident better than I did, by choosing to laugh at me instead.Admittedly I stuck it back together easy enough with glue but I was disappointed when that happened. Not a bad pistol for a little desperado though.4/5
