Must have!!
This Murphy bed is perfect! We got the queen size in white, and it completely transformed our space. The bed folds up smoothly and allows us to use the room for both an office and a guest room. When it’s down, it’s sturdy and comfortable, and when it’s up, it looks sleek and saves so much space. The white finish matches easily with any décor and makes the room feel bright and open. Assembly took some time, but the instructions were clear. Excellent quality and a great solution for dual-use rooms! Comfortably fits/hold the weight of 2 adults and a toddler.

Pleasantly surprised
For background I'm a woman in my 40s, and was able to install this completely by myself in a few hours. The bed came in 4 huge very heavy boxes. I needed someone to help lift them into my house and in an adjoining room to where I wanted to install the bed. It is well packed with lots of cardboard and styrofoam surrounding the items. Nothing was damaged in transit. The material is particleboard, but very thick and study and when assembled it looks nice and is better quality than I was expecting. I have children and was worried about them being able to open it themselves, but the handles are high up, and requires adult strength to pull open and hold up while moving supporting bar around the mattress, my very strong 8 year old could not do independently. I was nervous to put this together by myself based on the reviews, but the directions were simple and easy to follow and required minimal tools. I used the mattress I had purchased to hold the bed open when required (while still in box), a second person was not actually necessary for anything other than lifting the boxes inside my home. I was also nervous about the mattress fitting and the 10 inch pillow top that I purchased fits with ease under the supporting frame. I do not think a thicker mattress will fit, however. Because I installed it on carpet I have to plane the bottom molding as it pops off when I open the bed due to the carpet height underneath. This wouldn't be a problem when installing on other flooring.

Nice looking and easy to use, not so much to install.
This is a nice looking, sturdy murphy bed. It's also massive and takes some strength and skills to assemble. It came in 4 boxes, both large and heavy. The delivery guy helped me enter them in the room (which has a door on the driveway) otherwise it would have been already a problem. Overall it took me several days (not continuous) mostly by myself. A skilled and strong person can assemble it alone. Another person help in a couple of point doesnt hurt. Be aware that the instructions call for anchoring on the wall (against studs) AND on the floor (both on the floor itself and at the base of the wall). The problem with anchoring at the base of the wall is that the holes in the metal frame are pre-drilled, so if the holes are not (they won't be) corresponding to a stud and you do not have masonry or wood there you are out of luck. I opted to install just on the wall and the floor, and I think it should be enought. The final assembly of the doors is the most complicated part because the instructions are nor very detailed and because you have to drill and anchor the doors without knowing where they will actually be positioned. On customer service, I needed help with the instructions and a missing minor piece (one of the slats): in both case I was able to speak to the manufacturer's representatives (number provided) and they were able to explain what wasn't clear and send the replacement part free of charge (they actually sent 2). It's not everyday that you can speak to live person, so that's a strong quality point. TLDR: nice and sturdy but assembly is not for the faint of heart or the inexperienced.

Heavy, hard and expensive to assmble.
Very heavy. I was barely ableassemble. it inside the house, 3 boxes. I bought it thinking I can assemble it myself, I changed my mind when I saw how heavy it was. 2 professional workers have been working on it for last 5 and half hours, still not finished, thet havent been able to pevel the doors. I have to pay another $400 for assembly. They may ask for more with all the time they have spent. I hope the quality at least is ok and it will last.

Assembly required
This is a complicated product. It's a well designed product and works well. It requires shipment in four (4) very large and heavy boxes. It requires a lot of time to be assembled. The assembly instructions are excellent, and come in several languages. If you have experience putting together Legos, you can manage this (much larger scale) project. I was able to do the whole production by myself without anyone helping me. This required removing the parts from the boxes and carrying them into my house (and upstairs) carefully. Three boxes arrived and I had no idea there was a fourth box, so I contacted the vendor, who got back to me quickly to let me know the 4th box was going to arrive a few days later. This must be a very complicated item for the seller to manage. There's really no easy way to send this back, or even to discard it. The bed has gas springs that help you lift it up and down, into and out of the cabinet. It would be a challenge to manage otherwise, or of the springs stop working. Those springs make for an assembly challenge, since the bed won't stay down while partially complete. I had to sit on the frame while assembling it. You might be able to hold it down with cynder blocks or something similarly dense and heavy. Or you could build it with two people, which is probably the best way, if you can find someone with the patience for it. The bed is high when assembled, as in the height of the cabinet. You should measure the height of your ceiling before you order it. I didn't measure and it barely fit. I had to remove the (1/4") feet from the bed in order to get it to fit. That's tight!

It's heavy, it takes a lot of work to put it together, and the instructions were sometimes vague, but I did it all without any help. The quality is excellent, and it looks and functions perfectly
