I bought this because of the longer net part, having tried another version that wouldn't sit right on my pool's curved lip. I didn't realize at first that it sits in front of the skimmer basket intake. That fact makes me feel that this product was thoughtfully designed-- frogs do laps until they see something above them to grab onto, and when I find them deceased, it's always in the skimmer basket. I have left it on overnight, and it didn't get knocked out of position when the pool pump kicked on. It also sits a little bit out from the hole so leaves can still get it. It feels like someone tinkered with this until it was just right, which is so rare in today's "give the least, get the most" selling mindset. When I saw that there was a hand typed insert with the owner's email address and a promise to handle any issues that arise within two years (and mentioning that he's local here in San Diego), I knew I wanted to post it to my local groups and leave a review.

Yes, they do work. I was frequently retrieving either scared or dead squirrels or frogs from the pool 2 years ago. Picked up one of these and it all stopped. The old one wore out and I didn’t replace it for a couple months and I really wish I did it sooner. Place it at your skimmer and save those little critters and your pool.

They work quite well squirrels can get out pretty good, gophers not so good. Quality seems to be the problem. The plastic dries out and starts splitting sooner than it used to. Their little toenails get caught in the grabber material and they wind up not surviving.

Was ok but disintegrated after 11 months. Going back to previous brand that lasted two seasons. Also the noodle looking part kept detaching and floating away, which was annoying.

Saving one frog at a time! Actually one day there were two frogs on it. We’ve had it on our pool all summer. Not sure how many critters have used it but it’s saved some.

Saves all sorts of creatures in my pool…. Bees, frogs, salamanders and on and on…

This product actually looks much better than the ones we previously purchased.
