Got size M for my 120L tank. Honestly, I don’t mind that it’s not fully packed inside the basket. It’s got a decent amount in it, I don’t know what people are complaining about. It does it’s job, my fish have approved it!

Difficult to assess the effect, appears to have a long term effect

This ceramic media is a must for a stable aquarium, the amount of bacteria this stuff can hold ensures you will never have a weak colony to carry out the nitrogen cycle. The biorb filters are terrible but the lava rock, like this stuff, has incredible surface area for bacterial growth which is what powers the biological side of filtration.

Purchased two of these to replace the standard sponges supplied with the filter by Juwel. Installed them one week apart in the bottom part of the filter to give the bacteria a chance to colonise the media. Ammonia & Nitrites have remained at complete zero. No colour at all with the Nitrite test, even if left for a few hours. Great price on Amazon!

Always good stuff

Using in a 5ft 450lt tropical planted tank. Juwel products can always be relied on. Their Bioflow filters are excellent if they are used as per instructions. Just rinse and put this product in and leave it to start working.

Have read that this helps keep water better so am giving it a go with nothing to lose
