ThruNite TH20 520 Lumen CREE XP-L LED Headlamp (TH20 Cool White)

Another winner from ThruNite ... absolutely love this product. Its very light weight and very comfortable to wear. Unlike the larger, heavier TH10 (which I also love) this lamp has more of a flood beam with no real hotspot (perfect for most uses). The variable brightness feature is useful but it is the small size, low weight, comfortable headband, single AA power source, strong output, tough Aluminium body (no plastic to break), and bargain price that makes this my favourite headlamp ever! Mine is Cool White, but I'm so impressed I've ordered another one in Neutral White.I would like to add that there are some things that could be improved such as adding a low battery indicator. Another thing I noticed is that although you get a spare rubber mount for the headlamp it would require cutting the stitches on the strap and then resewing them in order to fit it. Hopefully I won't ever need to do this. It might have been better to simply include a complete spare headband and add a couple quid to the price. I am really just nitpicking here as this headlamp is still a winner just as it is ... my favourite ThruNite product to date!

An ideal light for night time navigation/camping and walking. It’s not one of those lighthouses on your head lamps you can buy! What it is, is a very practical, well made and robust light. The body is virtually indestructible, the elastic head strap is easily adjustable and comfortable. Very good battery life. Happy to recommend.

UPDATED Review 3 November 2017:—————While the Thrunite TH20 I purchased in July of 2016 is still functioning fine, right away the rubber ring gasket started getting cought each time I screw the cap on, now tricky to screw the cap on not damaging the gasket, as I have to push it in while screwing the cap at the same time.Other than that everything still works just like the day I received it.BUT, at the current price of £26 (I paid £17.95) - I can no longer recommend this headlamp !Due to the fact that price has gone up but most importantly - many newer and better headlamps have been released.They still come in compact form, but now have massive capacity rechargeable and if need replaceable 18650 batteries, powerful Cree XPL and other LED’s, many show battery level too, some latest lights now even have XHP35 HD LED’s which can push 1800 lumens, altough just for short time (usually for up to 1 minute).My favourite headlamp at the moment is ‘Imalent HR20W-OP’ (W for neutral white, OP for orange peel reflector).A rechargeable headlamp with micro usb port, rechargeable and replaceable 18650 battery, 1000 lumens, really beautiful natural light colour/ tint and it’s best and standout feature - it has physical scroll wheel for adjusting brightness !The scroll wheel feature is amazing to use and very addictive :) No need to press and hold buttons to adjust light anymore, just scroll the wheel and instantly adjust brightness, can adjust brightness before turning light on and works on flashing (blink) modes too.Imalent missing just one feature that many new lights have - remaining battery level monitor.Also Imalent should definitely be less waterproof than Thrunite due to micro usb port being on the outside (has rubber flap) and scroll wheel, but all features make it totally worth it.So, while the Thrunite TH20 used to be great, it’s more kind of ‘OK’ now, still best if want to stick to AA batteries.Get what suits you best and enjoy it !:)——————————Original review:Simple yet powerful, small and sturdy light.User interface is 10/10, would not change a thing, it's a dream come true for me.Build quality is 10/10, comfortable to wear.Price paid (£17.95) was also great value.Although LED used is not of the best colour/tint - it is more than good enough for a simple headlamp (bought cool white).Final thoughts:Everyone who needs a simple, good headlamp (quick to put on, adjust, replace battery), should have this.If you are considering this headlamp, have a look at review videos online first, where you can get a good understanding of how it works and the light output.

Love this head torch. Did a lot of research before purchase and was not disappointed. Have now bought two. Light is excellent, with no bright spots just a good consistent light. Adjustable angle on headlamp attachment. Good adjustment on strap. Decent battery life. Excellent build quality. Generally very pleased

Small compact, multi use light brilliant bit of kit

I have owned petzl head touches before but the plastic on them has started to become very cheap and thin so they can be broken very easily so after seeing the thrunite th20 getting great reviews on youtube i thought I'd take the plunge and buy one and I'm not disappointed, well made, tough and will take anything the elements can throw at it, rain, snow you name it and it has an sos function if you find yourself in a tricky situation. Very pleased with my purchase

This light is built much better than the typical product made by "brand you never heard of which is some unpronounceable word" that plagues Amazon, while still being relatively affordable (in the context of flashlight 'enthusiast' stuff, which gets crazy expensive.)The light is bright enough, and it feels nice on the head. Only downside is the color purity is not ideal, there's a bit of a green-ish cast which comes and goes depending on what part of the cone of light you're in. But it's ignorable.I chose to use this with Eneloop NiMH AA cells, for their low self-discharge (can sit in a drawer for long periods) and affordability; you can buy an 8-pack and have numerous spares waiting. Also for not dealing with Alkalines that leak and aren't reusable. Probably not getting the maximum light intensity level or runtime compared to Lithium cells but it's a tradeoff I'm fine with.

La opción del frontal ThruNite TH20 de poder seleccionar el número de lúmenes desde cero al máximo escalonadamente es una gran característica.El modo " luna" y "SOS", en situaciones de emergencia pueden llegar a ser muy útiles.A esto hay que añadir que puede utilizar pilas AA alcalinas, recargables ni-mh AA, primarias de litio AA, y pilas recargables Li-ion 14500.Es un frontal con un haz de luz muy amplio, me refiero a que no es un frontal cuya luz llegué muy lejos, aún así en mi opinión es un buen frontal.

Beautiful build quality and asthetics as expected from thrunite. Great light output at the best price in the 500 lumen class. Not too bulky, a great size without the big battery pack at the back of your head like others. I also love that the on/off button is a light touch clicky and not a hard press so you can operate the function with one finger quickly with ease. The bonus rubber light holder for the headband was a beautiful touch by the thrunite people. Other companies would sell it as a replacement but thrunite includes it in the box. Those little touches remind me of the care and thought that thrunite put into they're products, and are what make me a return costomer.

Acquistata in tonalità "cool white" (il colore della luce è acidognolo, specie a bassa intensità, se non vi piace cercatela in versione "natural").Questa torcia è davvero un'ottima risorsa: versatile, efficiente e con un'elevata qualità e cura nella costruzione.Premesso che TUTTO DIPENDE DA COSA VOLETE FARCI, i punti di forza sono:- la qualità e la robustezza della torcia, in alluminio anodizzato nero.- l'estrema versatilità del fascio luminoso (da scheda tecnica risulta avere 4 modalità, ma la facilità di selezione ne rende l'uso comodissimo: nel senso che tolte le modalità "speciali" - sos e turbo- tutte le altre vanno a "sfumare" dalla "lucciola" alla "high" tenendo premuto il pulsante, permettendo così di selezionare con estrema facilità l'intensità più adatta alla circostanza in cui ci si trova).- il fatto che la torcia, essendo cilindrica e includendo la batteria, una volta sganciata dalla ghiera di gomma e dall'elastico può essere portata comodamente in tasca, senza impicciare (come accadrebbe invece con le lampade frontali di forma tradizionale).- il fatto di funzionare sia con batterie 14500 (che erogano maggior potenza in modalità turbo e sos), sia con una normale AA (che comunque eroga un fascio più che dignitoso, 250lm, in modalità turbo, ed è più facile da reperire in caso di necessità.Da acquistare se:Volete una torcia versatile e efficiente, che possa togliervi dagli impicci durante situazioni di emergenza (e non) di vario tipo: cambiare una gomma di notte, salire/scendere le scale di un condominio durante un black-out, leggere a letto, camminare di notte per boschi, spiagge o strade non illuminate.Se invece vi serve per il JOGGING, trovo che non sia molto adatta, poiché pensata per usi diversi. Per il jogging consiglio di orientarsi sui modelli più tradizionali, con la terza fascia superiore e magari il pacco batterie separato dal led e posizionato sulla nuca, in modo da bilanciare il peso durante le oscillazioni della corsa.La Thrunite arriva nel suo scatolino, ben confezionata, con un supporto di gomma e due guarnizioni in più, di scorta.Posso dirmi totalmente soddisfatto e se ne avrò nuovamente necessità terrò ben in considerazione questa marca. Soldi spesi bene.
