Omron NE-C28P Compressor Nebuliser, 60 dB

I read the reviews & found like-minded users for my needs thanks to Amazon's reviews for items this helped me decide. It took me a long time to choose as I wanted a well-made robust machine and although this Omron C28P is designed in Japan they are, in fact as it states, made in China. As are the German-designed ones. Thanks to Amazon I was now also assured I would receive a brand new unopened machine unused, untried by someone who orders items then sends them back 'used' Still I checked completely to make sure all was brand new. It came the next day with Prime well packaged and all perfect. It's quite loud with a powerful motor but on a soft surface like a mattress, the sound is much more muted. *Obviously one should be with the appliance while switched on at all times if doing this in case of fire. it's probably not recommended I just wanted it quieter for the sick birds. You can hear the sound in my video it's not bad at all & the most nervous of birds wasn't fazed by it. The instructions are plain and simple, easy to follow. Cleaning is quick and easy. While rehabilitating the wild bird I was very surprised to see the lice which attack sick birds falling off dying or dead. I was using F10 Antiseptic for nebulizing wild birds & animals. The bird loved the cold steam & was trying to bathe in it spreading his wings fanning his tail & opening his broken beak. The machine saved us from using poisons and invasive treatments to remove infections. I was able to treat the bird with a 'hands-off' method which is much better for a bird to be released back into the wild. Using on another bird, struggling to breathe, it gave comfort almost immediately. The new version of the model was unsuitable for my particular needs due to the handheld part needing to be manipulated by the user & the device needing to be breathed into but this older model is perfect & half price on Amazon. When used in a closed-in area, like a nebulizing box for animals, the space quickly fills with the healing medicated steam droplets with a powerful amount of steam. I did not use this method in my video as I only needed the bird to breathe in the steam in the jet, I was also impressed by this steam produced. The solid feel of the machine & long guarantee have assured me I made the right choice. Already it's had plenty of use, 4 times on some days. Another life saved with this again today.

For some time I have been suffering with congested lungs, and this machine, used three or four times a day, clears my lungs completely ...... For the first time in ages I have been able to take a brisk walk without getting out of breath ...... Brilliant bit of kit ......Update ...... At the time I bought this one some two and a half years ago, I had recently been in hospital, as a result of coughing up blood ...... The main cause of my problems was the fact that my front door opens directly onto the A38, with all it's traffic pollution ...... It's at it's worst when there is an overcast sky and little or no wind to disperse the pollution ...... I still have the problem with the traffic pollution, but even when it's at it's worst, three or four sessions a day keeps my lungs clear ...... I use the Physiodose treatment with it, and it works well.

Very good nebuliser very similar to the one I had to use in hospital as I’m asthmatic.it has all the necessary extras for children to use ..ie small mask and mouthpiece..The adult mask is good as this covers nose and mouth .It is fairly noisy and easy to assemble..This was a lifesaver for me as I had a chest infection plus asthma ..worth the money .

While this would not have been my first choice of unit, it was essential when we contracted Covid, so decided to try it despite some negative comments. It certainly is noisy. I guess it has a very substantial motor and will hopefully last a long time, so for the 15 minutes or so it is in use, I either put up with it or put some headphones on to drown some of the noise out. I made up a saline solution to which I added a very low concentration (0.1%) hydrogen peroxide and a drop of Lugols iodine and filled this to the top line. It is ample for one session and if you don't want 15 minutes of time, two people can share one batch of mixture. Overall it is easy to use. The face masks are not great quality and should not be cleaned in boiling water as suggested for the other parts as they deform. Overall a good product and certainly works well but not one if you dislike a very loud noise. It is certainly not a unit that is ideal for travelling as it is fairly large and heavy. That said, it is only a concern if you are flying somewhere.

So far this machine has performed well. The initial set up and operation instructions were clear and easy to follow; I had no problem following either the written instructions or the connection diagrams. Fittings - The nebulising medication tank comes in three parts. 1. Chamber Cap. 2. Inhalation top (including the vaporiser head). 3. Medication chamber. All of which were easily assembled without issues. The medication tank can be slotted into the holder on the front of the unit which is a useful feature when filling. Unit was supplied with both adult/child face masks & also includes a mouth & nose piece all of which seem robust and durable. I have only used the adult mask but its connection to the medication dispensing tank and the air tube was straight forward and sealed easily. There is some slight residual smell from the plastic masks but it is not unpleasant and will probably disperse with time. The Air Tube does need firm and consistent pressure along with a slight twisting motion when connecting to the outlet nozzle of the compressor, but it does fit snugly and without leaks. The addition of a spare set of 5 air filters was also a bonus. Output - Rated at dispensing 0.5 ml of medication per min the unit offers a good rate of delivery and produces a consistent amount of medicated mist into the mask or mouthpiece. I was comfortably able to dispense 2.5ml of salbutamol in around 5 min. Noise levels - Having used Nebulisers in the past and prior to purchase of the Omron NE-C28P I was concerned that the noise level of the compressor may be excessive, however contrary to some of the negative reviews on Amazon I was pleasantly surprised how acceptable the noise level is (considering its 60db rating). While I am not suggesting it is anywhere near silent, it is certainly much quieter than ones I have used at the hospital. Additionally the 200cm (around 6ft 6ins) Air tube gives you plenty of room to not have to sit right next to the unit which also helps with noise reduction. Carry Bag - The lightweight of the unit along with the addition of a robust carry bag makes it easily portable and with careful arrangement all necessary parts can be safely stored and transported, packing would be slightly more convenient if the unit’s power lead was detachable. The bag also contains an internal slip pocket which is useful for storing the air tube and few vials of standard sized solution. Cleaning - most of the fittings apart from the air tube can be washed & sterilized, which you need to do regularly to avoid any contamination or risk of bacterial infection. The air tube is washable at the nozzles, as is the air outlet of the machine, but it is not advised to immerse the air tube in water (internal contamination) but rather remove any excess moisture by connecting to the machine and letting it blow through for a few minutes after use. Word of caution; would be best practice to consult with your doctor or health care professional before randomly using any solutions or medication. This machine is reasonably priced of sturdy construction and the 3 year warranty is re-assuring. All in all this seems to be a reliable well designed machine that performs excellently. Happy with purchase. Have now bought a 2nd one for traveling.

I had the small and portable one before and that one had no power at all and took forever to dispense the fluid so we we opted to buy this product and it’s impressive. I could say it could level to the one’s used in hospitals and fairly sized so could be brought on trips. It can be quite loud though, but this is totally shadowed by the fact that it works well and aerosolises the fluid/medication fast enough that you wouldn’t need to have it on for a while.

Delighted to say mine came with a U.K. 3 pin plug. I know many people said they got a European plug. I had brittle asthma as a teenager. Now in my early forties I still suffer from coughing fits in flu session. I used a nebuliser back then with ventolin and they were big and cumbersome. This device is very small and compact. I like the storage bag. It has all the accessories you need. Now during a coughing fit I don’t need nebulised meds but instead I nebulise water. It really helps with the persistent coughing fits and there are no side effects. It opens up the airways and allows you to lie down and sleep if you are disturbed during the night which is always the worst time for me. At the moment I’m unwell so will be using this for the next couple of weeks with water. This comes after advice from a nurse. It’s always handy to have this machine at home just in case. Only gripe is the noise. It’s really very loud! Not to great if you need it in the middle of the night as it WILL wake the entire household. However it’s absolutely worth it to feel better. 5/5 stars. Many thanks for reading my review. Edit: I had 2 bouts of flu in 2017/18. Both times I was in bed for 3 weeks. The relentless coughing was severe at times - when you just can’t stop all the time particularly during the night. This is when you cough so much you end up gagging and with a sore rib cage. I found using the nebulised tap water a tremendous help with breathing and when I was at my worst I simply refilled the chamber and used it again straight away. It really opens up the airways and provided me with better relief than a cough medicine. You simply wash out the mask and chamber with warm soapy water and leave to dry. I’m so very glad I purchased this nebuliser. I’ve since had the flu jab and hopefully won’t be getting a bout of flu this winter! Couldn’t really recommend buying this more highly.

What an amazing little machine. I’ve recently had pneumonia and was advised to buy one of these nebulisers to assist with my breathing. I wasn’t sure which nebuliser to buy so I read the reviews and chose this one by ONRON Yes I agree it does make a noise. But that’s the only negative. It’s a brilliant little machine. Simple to use. I purchased the saline solution at the same time to use with the machine. Delivered very quickly. I only used it twice but what a difference it made. You can use this anywhere. It comes with a neat navy fabric case for storing and everything fits in perfect. Highly recommended.
