Very well made 10stop 2mm thick glass filter with foam surround
Very well made 10stop 2mm thick glass filter with foam gasket to help cancel light coming in from the edges - I'd recommend placing a hand around it to protect from light leaks, and note that the filter should be in the slot closest to the camera. Comes complete with a very handy timings conversion card small enough to fit in your wallet. The tin, whilst ok becomes pretty much irrelevant as you'll almost definitely be wanting a filter pouch of some sort, these are relatively cheap at £25+ depending upon what brand, and these are fine for storing the filter. I add cardboard at each end of the pouch for extra protection, along with a single sachet of silica gel. As for the filter itself, it works wonderfully well, with a (correctable) slight blue colour cast. I've always been a B+W screw in filter user for a long time, but wanted something quicker to stack. For reference the 77mm B+W 10 stop is also a similar price, if you don't want to purchase a LEE filter kit just for a big stopper, then I can highly recommend that and you can save yourself a wad of cash. Note that Lee also do a 15stop ND filter 'Lee Super Stopper' which is extreme, but perhaps worth investigating before purchasing this. Always happy to answer any questions about this product, or the lee kit in general (I also use the 105mm polariser with adaptor, single step up ring, and 24mm lens on FF with no vignetting). I remember feeling a touch out of my depth understanding what I needed way back when, in retrospect everything is very straightforward, but do always feel free to ask.

The best filters for the job
I purchased this filter as I already had the little stopper (6 stops) but found there were many situations where I needed more stops on the filter to give me a longer exposure. The 10 stop Big Stopper is a great addition to my collection giving me really long exposure time. The quality of the filters are really pro grade, well made and give no colour cast. They come in a really nice protective case and if looked after will last and last. Highly recommended

There is no noticeable colour cast using my one and the little exposure card that comes with it is very useful when starting out
I would think that every serious landscape photographer will have one of these in their bag. I have used mine a lot for seascapes, waterfalls and high definition Black and White. There is no noticeable colour cast using my one and the little exposure card that comes with it is very useful when starting out or when you don't have a mobile signal. There are a number of long exposure apps available as well so if you are buying a Big Stopper have a look for one of them. I use one called LE Calculator. This is a Lee filter so the build quality is very good. It comes in its own tin with lots of inner padding so is well protected. I haven't used any other make so cannot compare but would have no problem recommending this one.

Leaves a colour cast on edge of image.
Leaves a colour cast on image edge. Everything covered so as not to get light leaks. Contacted Lee filters and was told that someone would reply. No one did. Poor service.

Lee Filters Big Stopper Glass Filter Neutral-Density
It's the daddy of all ND filters, it's the bench mark all other ND filters are measured against. It's expensive for a piece of glass and it's made by Lee Filters. I rest my case... Don't waste your time and money on any other brand. Buy this and accept the cost; it's the cost of doing business! Marry the filter with Lee's own in-phone app that can be found on Android and IOS and much of the hard work in long exposure photography is done for you.

Superb
Very fast delivery and exceptional quality product from Lee filters. The BIG Stopper is a high quality product and having used cheaper 10 stop ND screw on filters before ( which I could never get on with ) I was more than happy with this Lee filters system. It just feels a well thought out way to capture those silky smooth water falls, tides and sky's. That most aspiring landscape photographers want. The delivery was fast and arrived before its estimated time. The BIG Stopper coupled with the essential Foundation Kit and Lens adaptor ring both sold separately. May seem expensive at first yet it's well worth it. I am so happy with my Lee BIG stopper that I've now ordered the Lee Super stopper to capture those bright sunny days.

Excellent
I first ordered a 10 stop ND filter from another (cheaper) manufacturer as I hadn't used one before and I was excited to give it a go. I may have well thrown money away, the end result was awful with some very strange distortion and colour cast. I ordered the Lee filter after reading many reviews, although it was at the top of the price range I believe it is worth every penny, I see no colour cast and absolutely no distortion, I should have gone for this straight away, the results have been excellent, from opening the package you can see the quality and care Lee take with their filters, I have since added two more to my collection. Don't settle for anything less, Lee filters are the very best out there

If you like to get it right in camera then filters are ...
You get what you pay for... If you like to get it right in camera then filters are a must. Lee filters are the best. I started out with a Cokin P series which, being honest, are very good but caused vignetting on my wide angle lens. The 100mm lee sytem is quality and in my opinion worth every penny. Worth getting the protective wallets to protect your expensive glass though.

Beautiful ND filter from Lee. When I first started getting into ND filters, the Lee "Little Stopper" was my first purchase. I used it quite a lot to smooth out ocean water, waterfalls, clouds, that kind of stuff. Great piece of glass. However, I could never get the smoothness I was looking for, so I added this "Big Stopper" to my kit. For me, this filter is the perfect strength. 10-stops allows me to slow the shutter far longer than the Little Stopper, which gives me smoother results with anything in motion. The results feel more intentional and artistic than what I was getting out of the Little Stopper. Love it! Note that this glass is different from the Little Stopper however, for it adds a strong blue color cast to your images. That means you'll absolutely have to shoot in RAW so you can correct/negate that blue color cast by adjusting its tint/white balance in post. Would not recommend shooting in JPG with this filter, for your images will come out bluer than you expect. Finally, this 10-stop filter is dark, so once you attach it to your camera you may not be able to see your composition through the camera viewfinder. For those situations you'll want to find the "proper" exposure of your scene by shooting an image or two without the ND filter, then use those exposure settings with Lee Filter mobile app to figure out what shutter speed you should use with the Big Stopper attached. I've found the calculations provided by the app to be spot-on and super easy to use. All in all, a beautiful filter which should last a lifetime. Well worth the investment.

Very useful filter for getting long exposures but you need the app from Lee to easily calculate the proper exposure .... most, if not all DSLR's can not take a through the lens meter reading through this ND filter but the Lee app is very easy to use. Good quality glass filter with no detectable colour cast. I am currently using this filter in Iceland to blur out waterfalls by way of long exposures. Very satisfied!
