Good, did the job
Bought to cover a water stain on ceiling following a leak. Followed instructions and after 2 coats can't see the stain anymore. Also used it on a stain on the ceiling from a child's slime ball that had been stuck to ceiling and left a pink mark and it covered it also. Didn't need a large tin so this size was great.

No frills and does the job!
Good value for money. Coats well, may need a couple of coats, reasonable finish

Does the job
Water leak in the bathroom ended up on the lounge ceiling leaving a brown water mark. Just one coat of this stain blocker covered the stain then just one coat of Matt Vinyl and you can’t see the stain.

Good product.
Works well and can be applied quite thinly as it still seals in the stain don’t can paint over it. We had water marks from a failed roof in a storm. Kept coming through but this sorted it.

Water based paint, easy to apply.
Used this product to cover water stains on an interior ceiling. It took three coats to cover the stain but I was happy in the end.

Does what it says!
Used this product to keep damp patch inside away, under the window sill, which is the usual culprit, the reading went down from high to low after 3 coats, so pleased with this product! Emulsion covered over very well!

Does the job but needed a couple of coats
used to cover some knots coming through, went on well and not much odour but did have to use a couple of coats so doubled the prep time so minus a star for that.

Small tin for small stain area - covers really well
Brilliant product. I had a leak through my ceiling leaving horrid brown water marks. It wasn't a large area so I didn't need a massive tin of paint to cover it. This 250 ml was just the job. And what's more, there was absolutely no odour to it. I can't stand the smell of paint usually but this had no smell. Went on easily. Put on two coats and it's all ready to paint. (I've since painted over it and it looks great)

But almost twice the price of Kilz 3 Premium Interior Exterior. Rustins is made in the United Kingdom. It's extremely thick and dries quickly, so any of it applied has to be smoothed out immediately--if it isn't a hard glob or ridge will develop in seconds. Kilz dries quickly, too, but it's thinner and easier to work with. I bought the Rustins for a bedroom painted an extremely dark blue-green that had the paint slopped on so that the stains weren't originally visible. First I sanded with a Makita 18v jitterbug, then two thin skim coats of plaster to even up the plowed field surface--that's when numerous black stains appeared thru the white plaster. The Rustins was first applied with a roller on the large area that had numerous black stains 1/2 inch diameter and smaller, and on scattered small stains. Some still showed black and had to be coated a second, third and fourth time with a small brush. That's when I knew it was no better than Kilz. The can had a rough life with numerous brutal dents by the time I got it. The lid wasn't fully tapped close and dried flakes were on the lid when opened. A small amount of hard dried paint was in the box.
