Are these really microwave safe? They don't have the microwave symbol on them like the freezer symbol.

I have microwaved with them, not sure if you're supposed to but they seem OK!

Are the lids a tight fit - thinking about using for soups?

Do not attempt to seal when soup is boiling hot. Once soup has cooled, add soup so that there is space as liquid expands when frozen. The containers are excellent and stack very well too. So yes..good for soup. Dr. M
