Edifier R980T 4" Active Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Computer Speaker - Powered Studio Monitor (Pair)

I use my PC for work, gaming and online entertainment and have made do with basic Logitech speakers for most of my life. After my speakers started to fail, I decided to invest in something more advanced, but also cost effective and easy to use. I'm no audiophile and was not looking for a complicated setup. These Edifier speakers are exactly what I need. They're stylish and look good perched next to books on my desk. The sound quality, from my point of view, is great and is a tremendous difference from what I'm used to. If you're looking for decent speakers for your PC or living room and but don't require a complicated sound system, then this will do fine.

Great sound fidelity from a pair of very reasonably priced speakers. Easy to set up. Maybe volume/bass controls being on the back of the main speaker will not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's really a minor irritation at this price. 5***** from me.

Bought these for use with my desktop pc. They replace an old portable Bose speaker. Driven off the 3.5mm line-out from the PC built-in sound card. After a few days use I've found these to be extremely clear. I have absolutely no complaints about the sound quality. I've set the volume and bass and will probably never touch the controls again, so the lack of a remote doesn't bother me. The active speaker is Right by default but you could always swap the inputs if you needed it on the left. The two speakers are joined by a length of included bell-wire speaker cable. It's plasticky looking but does the job. RCA/RCA and RCA/3.5mm cables are included which I wasn't expecting. They look perfectly serviceable. We'll have to see how these last over the longer-term.

I took a risk by buying speakers without a sub woofer to replace my old broken ones. I use these for my gaming PC, which I also listen to music on frequently. I've given 4 stars as the sound is good for the price but the bass is a fair bit quieter than I'm used to with my old similarly priced speakers with a sub woofer. It would be unfair of me to rate these speakers poorly on that basis as I knew they were unlikely to be too bassey but was still a little disappointed with the result. Overall the sound quality is very clear. I'd say if you're looking for a decent set of speakers and don't have the room for a sub, or aren't too concerned about having heavy bass these are a good option. I really like the design and they look good on my desk. If you listen to heavier music and like to have the bass cranked up (and have space) I'd recommend looking elsewhere, even though these do an admirable job with the bass considering.

I was going to cancel the purchase on these speakers as I was a little ignorant on the connection issue, but luckily it was too late to cancel, I wanted them for my old set up, which used to be the mixer with 2 turntables connected to a hifi or though an amplifier, we are talking over 20 years ago, (even though I still think 20 years ago was the 70’s) I recently dug out my old turntables and mixer thinking I needed an amp or a hifi to connect, boy was I so happy I realised I can connect my mixer straight to the speakers, that’s how out of the loop I am with tech these days nice and simple, good sound quality to re-live my old DJ days from back in the day! So easy to set up and connect. I would recommend these for any set up.

The product is portable but at same time powerful. I love the build and the sound. Very perfect for the purpose

Great product good sound

I had finally lost patience with my computer speakers because the computer audio was much better than the speakers could manage. I have a pair of 6" studio monitors which I can switch to in place of the computer speakers and these little speakers are almost as revealing as the monitors. The bass is of good quality and sounds like the instrument it is supposed to be whether bass guitar or string bass. The frequency response seems even and wide without any band being emphasised or lost.The quality and clarity is maintained up to quite high volumes bearing in mind the tiny size of these speakers. Please note, I gave the remote control five stars, but this model does not have remote control or Bluetooth.

Sind für den küchenraum bestellt worden. Funktionieren nach paar Jahren immer noch tadellos. Satte bässe und genialer Klang Klarheit. Musik und ihre Details liegen mir sehr am Herzen und diese Boxen haben sie bis jetzt erfüllt. Das einzige Manko ist das der Stecker für England gedacht ist aber ein Adapter hat das Problem einfach gelöst.

Buona marca, devo dire che questi monitor hanno un suono che mi soddisfa in relazione al prezzo pagato (circa 60 euro, qualcosa in più) Hanno una sola cassa attiva, con doppio ingresso rca, regolazione di bassi e volume, che pilota poi l'audio anche sulla cassa ausiliaria (passiva). Buon prodotto, consigliato.

Great sound! Really loud and well balance speakers! If i had one negative comment it would be that there is no remote control. As book shelf speakers the sound is crystal clear and bass levels are really good.

Kann ich leider nicht anschließen, da der Netzstecker für Deutschland nicht paßt.
