Hydra Quartz Blanket Weed Pond Treatment - Blanket Weed Killer for Ponds | Removes Harmful Ammonia from Water | 5 Kg Treats Up to 62,500 Liters

Excellent it works! And here's how to calculate how much to apply.
Excellent, this realy does work. Within 24 hours (with the 1st half of the application), I could see that the blanket weed in my pond was dying back and within a week (and after the 2nd half of the application at 48 hours), it was cleared, and has remained so (3 months since application). The Quartz 1Kilo pack treats 2,200 Imperial gallons. So, your only problem is to work out how much to put into your pond. You don't have to be too accurate, approximations will do, but this might help: "1 cubic foot of water is 6.23 imperial gallons".A. If your pond is square/ish: Lenght (in feet) X Width (in feet) X Depth (overall in approx feet) X 6.23 = Gallons in Your pond!B. If your pond is round/ish: (Radius in feet X Radius in feet) X (Pi) 3.142 X Depth (overall in approx feet) X 6.23 = Gallons in Your pond!Pi is 3.142 and the Radius of a circle is half the diameter. So for example: My pond is an approx 10feet diameter circle and overall approx 1 foot deep, :So, (5 X 5) X 3.142 X 1 X 6.23 = 489.4 imperial gallons.Hope the above helps!

It Works!
This is the second time I have bought this. I have always found it effective. One of the problems that I am faced with (and this must be a common problem) is that the instructions say how much you should use depends on the volume of water. If you have a pond, as I have, you will have no idea how much water is in the pond. I get round this by adding a good quantity and the wait till it has effect. If it hasn't worked I add more till it does. But the point is that it always works using this method.

Worked a treat and spared my frogspawn too
I had slime developing on the surface of my pond. This product cleared the slime and now, after a few weeks of slight murkiness, the water is back to crystal-clear. I was a bit worried about using this product because I had a lot of frogspawn in the pond at the time, but true to its "wildlife-friendly" claims the product didn't hurt the spawn and I now have a burgeoning population of tiny tadpoles.

Does what it says on the tin (erm bucket)......
It seems to have taken me ages but I finally appear to have achieved the right “balance” within my modest pond (say 3m diameter, round). I have bought:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004V7JJEQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003GV6T9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JXNEIDA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00G96XHXQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00VLX203A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00I4278K6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0077L4V8C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DJ1T4L8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LW0RD0M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00SYS5GJ0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Which, to say the least, ought to keep my little pond running at perfect levels !I should also add that when we moved into the house, the pond already had a weak filter / fountain system. I’ve since re-attached that to the pond-spitters (the fairy and the cherub). When attached to the more powerful filtration systems it was like a garden sprinkler !Of all of this ‘kit’ the anti-blanket weed treatment has proved excellent – no signs of it 1 week after application.Without a doubt the main thing is the flitration system. However, I think that is closely followed by the air pump + air stones.I’ve obviously had to use a system of gravel / Cotswold stone to hide the pumps and lines. I now have beautifully clear water, cascading off stones into the pond. I have 30 + fish in the pond and since I’ve got the balance right, no fatalities.I also bought this, which was a disaster:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004R39F34/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Basically the effect was to create ‘spiders web’ which algae could cling to at the surface of the pond. Although the water underneath was perfectly clear the anti-heron mesh ruined visibility….hence I replaced it with the galvanised mesh listed above which hangs 1 inch above the water and so doesn’t create a gudge-trap.OK: I think I may have gone wild on buying kit for the pond, but finally I’ve got rid of the niggles and have achieved a perfectly good biological balance…..Good luck fellow pondies !

Very Effective
This product has greatly reduced the build-up of blanket-weed in my pond in less than a week.Instructions are clear about dosage and precautions for safeguarding your fish by ensuring good oxygenation during the treatment cycle (this and many other treatments can temporarily reduce oxygen levels in your pond). After starting treatment of the pond, the blanket weed started to appear thinner and slightly bubbly within a few hours - which I guess is the outwards signs of the product's reaction with the weed.Within 2 days I was fishing strands of free-floating weed from the pond - and as instructed, performed a second treatment at this time. One week on from the initial treatment, there is almost no weed left, my 20 or so fish are all fine and the product did nothing to curb their appetite!Fast shipping rounds out a good purchasing experience.Has so far proved to be the most effective product of this type that I have yet tried.

This works!
This works & is easy to use. Our Water Boatman, Pond Skaters & Newts are all OK, emerging plants are fine. When it’s time to scoop out the blanket weed sludge from the surface, check it for creatures & return them to the pond. We don’t have a pump in our pond so each half of the pond was aerated with an air pump prior to using the product. Recommended.
