Q: Would this little hammer be strong enough for me to bang in some concrete wall picture hooks?

The hammers strong enough. Its whether or not you picture hooks are strong enough to handle it. I bought some wall hooks and they weren't up for the job, even though it stated hard wall i found the pins bent or the plastic broke. Hope this is helpful to you

this very well made "claw hammer" is approx. 16.5 cm long X 9cm wide & 2.5cm across. the claw head is a regular size with a useful magnet feature. overall its's a short handle claw hammer = no good for removing long nails as the short handle prevents good leverage.

Q: It say's that it's made from carbon steel, does the steel run all the way through the handle to the end?

It's hard to tell. The rubber grip feels solid and relatively heavy, but, the head is much heavier that no matter how I hold it and try to weigh it in my hand the head still feels very heavy. I don't know for sure, but if anything does go all the way through it would have to have a much smaller cross section than the part that shows directly above the rubber handle. If it were this thick then the handle would have been much heavier than it is. I would like to point out though that I've had this since I moved into this new house last September (hence 9 months), I've used it a lot (new house, lots of fixing and hammering to do) and the handle is still very firm. So firm, that I can't even push the rubber a fraction of a millimetre to see whether the steel goes on or not!
