OK, but one of the "nails/bolts" that hold it together fell out.
Older folks, or younger ones with back problems, need these things. I have been reasonably happy with these "grabbers" (we have others as well), but recently one of two "nail/bolts" holding the pars together fell out of the "grabber" end, and I cannot reinsert it (the "nut" seems to be missing). It is not like a regular bolt; it has no threads. The "nut" looks more like a tiny washer that crimps on the end(?). And the "head" is just a hemispherical knob with no hex-shape or slot, so it is like a fancy black nail. If the other one falls out I assume the whole thing will fall apart.

How to extend the life of the Dumsamker grabber
I've tried other, cheaper grabbers without the Dumsamker identifier and they were horrible – cheaply made and quickly breaking in various ways. I especially like the Dumsamker's rubber tips, which are "cup-like" and work much better than the flatter "spatula-like" tips found on some other products. Be careful, however, because many of these knock-off units look quite similar. My primary use of this grabber is picking up trash along the side of the road. I found that the ends of the rubber tips were quickly wearing and eventually splitting. Once a tip splits, the device is no longer effective picking up small objects, such as cigarette butts. One object that you should avoid trying to pick up is anchored fishing line. Pulling fishing line through the tips of the grabber easily slices the rubber, thereafter making it impossible to pick up small, flat objects. Here are 3 ways to extend the life of the Dumsamker grabber: 1. Initially, I considered protecting the end of the tips using an epoxy resin. However, I was concerned that doing so would increase the height of the rubber gripping surface relative to the pavement, making it impossible to pick up small objects like dimes, flat pieces of paper, and cigarette butts. When the end of my latest grabber started to wear and tear, I decided to try putting a thin coating of "two-ton epoxy" on the ends of the grabber. Not only did it repair the tears, but I was still able to easily pick up thin objects like dimes. Because the epoxy is so hard, it is likely to protect the ends of the tips through a lot of additional use. 2. I assume you are walking forward as you pick up a piece of trash. The following technique keeps one tip on the ground as the rest of the grabber rotates about that contact point rather than the tip scrapping along the pavement. During this time, the other tip moves very close to the ground as the grabber closes. To explain how to execute this technique, I will call one of the grabber "fingers" the "forward" finger and the other the "back" finger. The orientation of these fingers will be such that a line drawn between the tips of the fingers is parallel to the path you are walking. The forward finger is forward of the back finger relative to your travel. As you approach the trash, the grabber will be slightly ahead of you and you use the back finger to orient the grabber relative to the trash. It is OK if the back finger strikes the ground. As you move forward, you will want to move the handle a little farther forward relative to your body. This will move the forward finger down to the ground to a point past the trash. The back finger will then rise slightly off the ground. Now as you close the gripper, the front finger rotates about its ground contact point but does not scrape the ground. The back finger is first lifted off the ground and then, as the fingers close, it moves closer and closer to the ground. The back finger usually doesn't even scrape the ground at all, because, by adjusting the position of the handle relative to the grabber fingers, you can very accurately control the distance of the back finger's tip relative to the ground. With a little practice, all this can be done very quickly and you often don't even have to pause your walking stride. So far, this technique appears to have at least doubled the life expectancy of my grabber. 3. Picking up small, flat pieces of paper sometimes requires the grabber tips to scrape the ground and paper. This is especially true when the paper is wet. However, I have found that by sliding the bottom of my shoe over the paper, the paper often rolls up or buckles, giving a place to grab that does not involve tip scraping.

Solid Grabber Tool, Easy to Use, Reaches, Grips, Picks up Small items with Ease!
Great reaching and grabbing tool! This 2-pack was a replacement for a single grabber tool that I had and depended on for many years. It finally broke when son stepped on it by mistake. My old tool was simple and thinner, made with cheaper materials and it didn't have good grip, so picked-up items would slip and drop a couple of times before I was able to quickly collect them with my hand. I didn't know any different though, until I used this new grabber tool and realized what I'd been missing. This new tool is wonderful and makes reaching and grabbiing items easy and quick. It is sturdy and solid, made with much better quality materials. I love that it has grip nodes on the grabber tips to secure items and pick up without dropping, rather than the smooth hard plastic tips that things slipped through on the old tool. I'm able to reach, grab, and collect things on the first try with this new tool. I also like that this new tool has a grabber tip end that swivels, so you don't have to bend and twist your arm in an awkward position to get something. With the solid, thicker stick/pole portion on the new tool, I am able to pick up heavier items easily, unlike the older tool that would bend and bow with much weight. I didn't realize that it had magnetic tips, until I used it to grab the TV remote from behind the couch and it came back not only holding the remote, but with a screw dangling from the tip! I wonder what's missing a screw, lol. I'm glad that I opted for the two-pack, what a great value. I'm able to leave one grabber in the house and keep one in the garage, where I also need it often. I had to hunt for the old tool every time I needed it, but now, with 2 new tools that have their designated spaces, I'm not wasting time searching for them. I definitely recommend and would purchase again.

Sturdy grabbers
Krogers are not just for the elderly. I use Grabbers a lot especially if something falls down behind the dryer or another tight spot that I can't fit into. These Grabbers are the best I've ever had. They are very strong and sturdy. I like the hand type design. Grabbers are cheap and can't hold on to things. These worked very well picking things out of behind the dryer that fell down. Even heavier type items such as full spray bottles. I am very satisfied with this product and the price.

Best Reacher product on Amazon!!!
I have bought several reacher products. Most fall apart or don't close. This is the best feature I have ever bought. I have several of them now. I placed one in every room because I am disabled. Bending over is not an object. However this does pick up heavy items. Such as canned goods etc. I can even close my windows that are slide windows with it. I use it to get things out of the bottom of the washer I can't reach that are wet even. I recommend that if you're looking for a product that is a reacher and you're not bought any before or you bought ones that just fall apart. I have two that I've had it for over a year. And they still work the as well as they did the day I bought them. I now have six. They are extremely worth the money. Please invest in these if you need reachers

Very solid, much better than expected. I'd dropped a 600ml bottle and my current picker's mouth wasn't wide enough to pick it up, so I purchased this one and it does the job perfectly. You don't realise how many times you pick things up from the floor, until you develop chronic back pain.
