Q: Will it crush 500 ml cans?

Yes- it’s really heavy duty and dishwasher safe. It has a stud to keep cans in position. Its made so that you use your foot. I recommend it. I’ve had mine for almost a year. You won’t have to buy another one. Hope this answers your question

"Yes" I am afraid is the answer, we keep our's open all the time on the floor so it doesn't really apply to us. Must admit though very impressed with it.

Hi., I only use mine to crush the likes of Pepsi & coke ., beer cans .. aluminium.. and it's only really slightly wider than the likes of a Pepsi can.Hope this helps a bit.
